“Get Away From The Hustle and Bustle”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2012

A nice break from the heat and noise of Bangkok. One of those bars where you want to grab some fish and chips (with all the vinegar and ketchup you want), have a few cold beers with your food at the bar and feel a big sigh of relief from that long air flight you just had. Being from America, I don't have a clue what some of the regulars are saying half the time, but they are friendly and easy going. It's one of those places that is hard just to have a few. If you are going to stay and throw down a few more beers, try some of the onion rings to munch on as they are simple but very tasty. Then you can send one of the Thai girls out to bring you some minced pork over rice and have a few more cold beers. See what I'm saying, it is hard to leave this fun little place.

“3+ stars for good. The British-Thai heritage behind this place shows.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2012

This place was started by a British-Thai couple years ago - and it shows in the design, food, and service. Good value. No pretense (which adds to the authenticity).

“Great Fish and Chips”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2011

As close to a chip shop you will find in Bangkok
Fish is good, have the local fush and not the more expensive Cod. Mushy peas good as well. Most of your UK chip shop favourites available

“Offshore Bar and Chip Shop”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2011

Once revelling in the proud title of Best Fish & Chip shop in Bangkok, it still may be, but now there is a second one, or so I am told.
Locally manufactured fish fryer, The Offshore looks like a genuine British chip shop and the food tastes the way it should even though unless you want to pay import prices for cod, you will have to put up with Snapper & Chips.
Keenly priced food, Snake & Pygmy pies and giant plates of beef stew.
Adjoining the chip shop is the Offshore Bar, where you will find a grumpy old ex oilfield worker running a bar with an “acquired taste”. Despite what anyone else says, The Offshore is a friendly bar with low prices that haven’t changed for years, and a good natured regular clientele.
Often open when all the other bars have closed, if the shutters are down, go in via the chip shop.
Traditional grumpy northerner as manager/host who will tell you that “ee bah gum” is Mugabe backwards.
