“Great location, great hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

Excellent Staff, great mid town location (street food 1 block away!), close to the train, great food.
We got a great rate and an upgrade at this classy hotel. Big open air pool, multiple eating options and great staff.
The duty free shopping is right next store. Location is great here, as we were only in BKK for a couple days, and were able to see a lot without a lot of hassle for transport. Also, the hotel has a free tuk tuk service to the nearest BTS station!

This is our first time in Bangkok and we are glad we found this gem. The hotel is located inside the compound together with the King Power Duty Free Store. There is a free "Tuktuk service" from 7 am to 11 pm that would bring you out to a small mall where you can catch the Skytrain (National Monument Station). The fact that the hotel is inside the compound sets it off from the hustle of Bangkok but with an added bonus if being accessible.
The deal we got is for their "executive rooms" which came with lots of extra and value added. First off, we get a personalized check in at their lounge where they give us wet towels and a drink as soon as we get in. We are then given a quick run-down on what are included in the service-- breakfast (either at the buffet downstairs at Le Cuisine or at the lounge), access to their lounge which serves coffee, soda and juice whole day (the juice is freshly squeezed), we get invited to their daily cocktail hour which is held at 5 pm to 7 pm, a free laundry of 1 item a day, turn down service (with chocolate mints - yummy), 2 juice or soda from the mini bar, 2 bottled water a day, and access to the King Power Lounge at the Airport at the day of your departure.
The rooms are spacious. The bathroom has a separate shower and bath tub (with a rubber duckie on hand too). One thing I like about this hotel is their attention to details -- those small items that makes you feel a little special.
The hotel also offers a pillow menu, in case you have a particular preference as to the firmness of your pillow.
The Cocktail hour is a great way to relax after a day of walking and touring. They offer regular cocktails and wine with great food -- sushi, snacks. I get so full from the spread that I sometimes went without dinner.
I visited their gym and it looked like it had new equipment. And unlike other hotels that provide water and towels, this gym had fresh fruits on hand!
The swimming pool was big too -- however, sadly we weren't able to use it because we were busy touring the city.
The staff, especially those at the executive lounge are very friendly and efficient.

We spent four nights at the Pullman King Power which was only five minute walk from the Victory Monument BTS station.

Since we had reserved a room on the executive floor, the check-in was processed in the executive lounge and not at the front desk. The staff took care of all the paperwork while we were enjoying drink, fruits and the view from the 20th floor.

We were a little disappointed by the room which was relatively small. For a five-star hotel, it was quite surprised to see that the furniture looked cheap, with a small desk and not a lot of drawers. Also, the air conditioning was noisy although it didn’t prevent us from having good night sleeps. The bed and pillows were excellent. The bathroom was well designed with high quality toiletries.

The executive staff was great: nice, polite and efficient. Our reservation allowed us to have access to the executive lounge (complimentary breakfast, cocktail from 5PM to 7PM, free computers) and some advantages such as free soft drinks from the room minibar, free laundry service (one item per day), two thousand baths off at the King power Duty Free shop and, above all, access to the King Power lounge at the Suvarnabhumi airport.

We did enjoy the breakfast in the ground floor: huge choice of oriental and western food, variety of Thai fruits, pastry, and plenty of other types of food, more that we can tried in several days.

The check-out was done also at the executive floor. It was quick and professional. The staff called the taxi directly and 30 seconds after we arrived to the lobby, the taxi came!

In a nutshell, we would recommend this hotel for those who have a short stay. More than three days for instance, it wouldn’t be practical with such a room with so few drawers. Don't hesitate to reserve an executive room, which is actually a standard room with access to the executive lounge.

we have stayed at the pulman previously and thoght enought of it to return. However we were disappointed with the catering. There are many buffet nights but western hygiene controls are non existent - no sneeze-proof food covers, people using their hands who look like they need a good wash, kids taking food without supervision.
Also they have closed their a la carte restaurant Deju Vu, even thoufg thier website still promotes it.

Room Tip: Excutive level worth the extra.

There is not a lot I can add from my previous reviews and the other favourable comments about this hotel.

Having stayed here on numerous occasions, I was a little concerned on my recent visit that many familiar faces had moved on and I wondered if the high standard of service I was accustomed to would be compromised.

I need not have worried as the level of attention and service was as good as it always has been.

I always stay on the executive floor which represents great value and moreso this trip having booked the room in the Accor sale and I also received a 500THB voucher for each night stayed to be used in the adjoining King Power Duty Free Complex.

Great value (despite the lousy Sterling/THB exchange rate), attentive staff, numerous exec floor benefits and comfortable rooms - everything you really need.

Room Tip: Without doubt - pay a little extra for the exec floor.

The hotel has good rooms, with nice decorations. Ask the ones where you can open the window, on the inner court if tiu like to breath the air. The breakfast is just incredible, I never saw so many choices, and with a really good quality.

We got this hotel at a good price while we stayed in Bangkok for 3 nights. Its more of an upscale business hotel so if your traveling with culture in mind this place isn't it. Everything here was super expensive, the food was terrible. Everything we ordered from room service was bland and took forever to get to the room. We found out later that this hotel isn't in the best neighborhood and was a little out of the way, though close to the air train which was convenient. All in all, just an average place to stay. Again better for business than vacation.

Dear 'rob r',
First of all, we hope you had a wonderful New Year Holiday and wish you all the best for year 2013.

I would like to thank you for choosing Pullman Bangkok King Power as your preferred accommodation during your recent visit in Bangkok and for taking the time to write a comment on Tripadvisor.
I am expressing my sincere apology for the unpleasant experience you had during your stay.
At Pullman Bangkok King Power, we are pleased to welcome both business and leisure guests as we do provide both meeting facility and leisure area such as our Botanical garden with fish pond, swimming pool, various restaurants, fitness and spa.
In regards to your comment about room service food, I already brought this issue to our Executive Chef. Would you be kind enough to give us more details on specific point by contact me directly at fom@pullmanbangkokkingpower.com? I am sure our Executive Chef will take your comment seriously and re examine his recipes.
For your information, we do extend special discount at our restaurant for every in-house guest. Maybe my staff forgets to inform you right upon your arrival. I will brief my team again to make sure that benefits clearly explained.
Lastly you mention our location, we are near Siam Square area, has an easy access to the BTS skytrain and expressway and just minutes away from Siam Square; shopping district. Besides, we also provide the shuttle 'Tuk Tuk' to take you to the station or if you like walking, it is only 3-5 mins from hotel.
Thank you again for sharing your comment and please contact me directly if your future visit is planned.
It is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the near future

Sincerely,
Angie
