“Neglecting serivce details”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012

To survive in a highly competitive hotel environment in Bangkok, it is common to have things like a great property, luxurious amenities, nice restaurant (especially a nice breakfast), more importantly, a spotless service. King Pullman got beautiful marks for the first two, but the rest I would declare for a disappointment.

Breakfast: no surprise at all and the restaurant layout is not smart enough. The hot dishes counter always stuck with people. Service staff were cold and unattentive. You need to ask for 20 times to refill a cup of tea.

Front office staff: upon check in, the room was not ready, we left our luggage and went out. When we came back at night and get the key card at the reception, I was so surprised that our luggage was not deliver to the room. At the end we need to drag our luggage yo our room after a long and tiring day of travel.

The rest, this hotel is really a below average one comparing to a thousands of brilliant hotel in bangkok.

Last but not least...the location is not the most conveient one. Especially you do not want to walk under a hot and humid weather back to the hotel from the BTS station.

Dear Valued Guest,
Sawasdee ka.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your feedback and comments on the tripadvisor review. We are delighted to see that you had given us the opportunity to improve our service by given the comment on your stay.
Thank you for the compliment on our property and amenities. Howver, I feel disappointed that we fail to give the service as per Pullman standard which caused you experience some disappointment.
Please be informed that we are planning to do the renovation at our Cuisine unplugged which will be finished by the end of the year. I wish you like to see its new look on next visit too.
I have also investigated with the Front Office team about the delayed of luggage delivery and individual training will be apply for them. Thank you again to bring this to my attention.
I would like to take this opportunity to inform you that we do provide shuttle Tuk Tuk from hotel to the train station from 7:00 am to 11:00pm. I will make sure with staff that every guest must receive this information upon arrival or during their stay.

During a recent visit to Bangkok. We had spent a very long day walking and
adventuring around your great city and at around 7pm we must have been
looking very lost (and tired) in Victory Square. One of your fantastic
female staff members recognized us and selfishly left her dinner to approach
us to offer us direction back "home" to the Pullman hotel. We throughly
enjoyed our stay appreciating every detail from the Pullman logo and its
reference to "pausing" to the lovely gentleman who delivered our chocolates
at night. But we wanted to make particular mention of this perfect example
of hospitality that this lady showed us, and have and will speak of with
fondness from this trip!

My husband and two children stayed here for 5 nights from 28 September to 03 October 2012.
We stayed on the Executive King room 2035 for 3 nights before moving to the Executive Suite room 2041 for another 2 nights. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted and escorted up to level 20 for an exclusive check in at the Executive Lounge. Rooms were wonderfully spacious and the Executive Suite was lovely, separate lounge and dining area with separate bedroom and bathroom.

We all know that Thai hospitality is naturally friendly throughout, however we have visited Thailand and stayed at five star hotels many times. I have to admit, you cannot beat the sincerity and kindness of the staff at Pullman King Power. The staff are helpful and happy all the time. Great recruitment!
Breakfast was wonderful both downstairs with everyone else and the Exec Lounge. Lots of fresh varieties from congee to bacon and eggs. There were days when the buffet on ground floor was so busy with a large group from Manulife (Vietnam) that we had to resort to staying on level 20's executive lounge. For breakfast. I'm glad we did, the breakfast area was made to order with pastries and fresh fruit laid out for selection. It was peaceful and the eggs Benedict was one of the best I've had. You basically get a much more ala carte breakfast style that is carefully cooked for you. We enjoyed the service with our wonderful food. Special mention to the staff at the main breakfast area who ensured we were comfortable and not troubled by the loud group of Manulife. Thank you to Tee who was exceptional and demonstrated excellent service. She made us want to come back to breakfast each morning as she went out of her way for any reasonable requests. Tee is the type of person a company whether hospitality or retail would be proud to have representing their company. She played with our son whilst we went to get our breakfast as well.
Between 5pm and 7pm, executive lounge puts on a nice spread of fresh fruit, desserts, chocolates and sushi and hot food. They also have free cocktails (good menu of selection) for you to enjoy. I thoroughly enjoyed the Pina Colada! Delicious! As part of Executive floor privileges we were able to get one piece of laundry/press ironed each day. We also received 500baht voucher for every night booked for King Power duty free next door. Though you must book through Pullman website to get this and not through 3rd party agents as I learnt. We also received late checkout at 3pm. The little touch of chocolate and freshly peeled fruit platter in our room was lovely. Each day we were able to take two drinks ie popper or coke/sprite from mini bar free of charge. On check out, we finalised everything at the Exec Lounge. Jip, was very good and ensured our next hotel we were going to knew we were coming had our rooms ready prior to our arrival. This was done without my knowledge, Jip asked where we were going next and then used his own initiatives to ensure our next journey would be smooth sailing. I highly recommend the Executive rooms as the extra service and extras outweigh the costs. Thank you to the team at the Executive Lounge you were all exceptionally five star in service and friendliness. Warm and helpful. We will be back and will let our friends all know where they should stay. Pullman King Power, you have selected great staff and we hope to return soon.
Thank you Benz and Jip and On and others in Exec Lounge and the wonderful Tee in main breakast area. Great people makes a great company!

The negatives: this is not to do with the hotel, but some Taxi drivers in Bangkok won't drive you to and from the hotel to the local shopping centers as they consider this too short of a trip. So be prepared to wait a little to get that metered taxi. The guys at the front of the hotel lobby will be very helpful in getting you a taxi, however to no fault of theirs that some taxis will reject the shorter trips. But eventually you will be on your way. If not, you have the free tuk tuk for guests that takes you to bts. However we never used this as we had an eight month old son with us.

I certainly will be staying here again upon our next return to Bangkok.

Room Tip: Executive rooms will give the extras that makes you smile. You won't regret that little extra yo...

The hotels nice the pool is good but what makes this hotel exceptional is the service. Everyone who works at the hotel couldn't do enough to help. We needed an opticians and the hotel rang the optician, the hotel car then took us, waited and then bought as back to the hotel. Every time we needed a taxi it was there within 5 minutes. The location is great, close to the reclining Buddha, koh Sam road etc. The price of the hotel is reasonable and based on service alone I will stay here again when I return to Bangkok!!

this hotel is simply awesome. Ive been in many high level hotels but this one has something special to me. Friendly staff who even remembered me when i came back after 2 months and always ready to support in all the ways .
Room is awesome, there's nothing else to say. Really comfortable. Swimming pool is great and also the bar with live music downstairs is really nice and make really good cocktails.
Breakfast is great! There are so many things to eat that you would spend there the whole morning forgetting that u got still lots to see around BKK.
I stayed here 4 times and I would definitely come back again!
Oveall, magnificent experience.
