“Monsieur Fenix, you have seen better days.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013

Le Fenix offers a good price in a great location - Soi 11 - with restaurants and bars all around. If you feel like, you could easily spend your whole night on Soi 11 because there are so many choices.

The hotel has, however, seen far better days. It used to be part of the Accor chain but is now independent. Whether Accor got rid of the property because it was going to need some renovating (and they didn't want to pay for it) I have no idea. Nevertheless, it certainly looks that way.

It looks shabby wherever you look if you look carefully. Everything is a bit dingy with little things breaking here and there. The fitness facility is TERRIBLE though. Do not stay here if having access to a fitness centre is in any way important to you.

Still, the price and location mean it's easy to overlook some of the flaws. Breakfast is fine. Wifi works. NEST (their rooftop bar) is still pretty good, too.

This was our first visit to Bangkok and we really enjoyed our stay at Le Fenix. The staff were very polite and helpful and the hotel is fairly modern and clean with good facilities. We would definitely stay here again.

Despite being on end of Soi 11, this is a quiet location, though my room did seem to suffer from some booming music until about midnight, I was on floor 7 ( the top ) this has not been the case before. Everything works, nice linen, good bathroom, clean and modern. Room lighting is too dark to work by. Fixtures and fittings are a tiny bit worn now, and the security latch on my door was broken ( was also broken on the last room I had here about 11 months ago !) Excellent walking distance to everything, many choices for eating etc. Very helpful staff, taxis etc always on site, shuttle tuk tuk to nana bts if you can't walk for the 5 minutes on your own. Good ish gym and indoor pool if you just want a bit of exercise and fabulous rooftop bar. My only gripe is that they still only allow 2 hours free internet per stay where every other hotel is free unlimited, didn't matter to me this trip, but sometimes it does and then I stay elsewhere. Fabulous lunch time business buffet which I have used many times, can't be beaten for quality food.

I stayed here April 20-22, 2013.

The hotel is stylish but is in desperate need of a thorough scrubbing. The carpets in the lobby and the hallways are dirty and stained walls gives an overall feeling of being grimy.

The staff are nice but not very helpful when you ask them about how to get to a particular location. They could not understand my broken Thai, even when I pointed out the words in my phrase book and unless it has something to do about the bill, they almost refused to speak English to me.

I probably will not stay here again

Room Tip: Rooms on the side are quieter but the lack of proper windows make the place seem closed in

Great location, service minded staff and bed`s was ok.

i was stayed there for two nights. its a nice and clean hotel with good location. bathroom is a bit small, but doesn't matter. Even it's a bit far from NANA Station. but hey, its so cheap to take a taxi or tuk tuk in Bangkok. not to mention the Q Bar and the BED just around with free entry by hotel key card. Also, nice restaurant with vareitly food to choose in breakfast. with this price, i cant think any better place to choose!!

I found a great deal on a discount website but have to say if I was paying full price I would have been very disappointed. The rooms were clean and well designed but nothing special. What let the hotel down was the corridors which had stained carpets and marks on the walls, the Nest Bar was also well designed with good service but again has been let go with regards to decor. I would not pay full price to stay there.
