We arrived at Siam@siam straight off the plane and stayed for two nights. It was excellent. Ok so we were given an upgrade to a business class room which had a great view of the national stadium and BKK skyline on the 24th floor but this place is really cool and quirky (good quirky). It's decor is modern, with vibrant colours and extensive use of concrete along arty sculptures and pieces all over.
The breakfast choice is extensive, the food in the evenings is also good and not extortionately priced.
The infinity pool at sunset was very special and the rooftop cocktail bar was superb. The cocktails themselves were well worth a visit, let along the stunning views.
The staff are really friendly here and I can't for the lie of me understand the criticisms of this place. Ok so the lifts take a minute or so each time, so what, not reason enough to lower the rating of this place.
It's ideally situated for getting around on the sky train, which is excellent and convenient for getting to places like Chattachak market at the weekend.
I'd recommend this place every time.

I was impressed by the qualities of this hotel, and its contemporary feel. It's just a little bit different from the usual kind of hotel, and yet you get the same welcome you'd expect from any good hotel. (We didn't experience any probs checking in). Breakfast was fantastic, lots of variety, and the location is brilliant, as it is just a few minutes walk away from the hectic hustle and bustle of Siam Square.
The pool is the only let down, as it is well advertised, and a great infinity pool in itself, but getting in is the problem, as for a hotel this size, there are only about 20 deck chairs & seats, so once they are gone you feel awkward not having anywhere to go but back to your room once you've had a swim. A great vibe overall.

We stayed at the Siam@Siam for 3 nights and wished we hadn't!

On arrival we were unimpressed by the level of service, which is substandard compared to the rest of the service we experience in Thailand. We were rushed up to the lobby and not sat down while our check in was processed. We were also being harassed by the destination Asia guide who wanted us to book tours (not the hotels fault, but they could have asked him to leave us alone while we checked in). Overall the hotel is very impressive physically, but we were let down by the other aspects.

The room was beautifully presented and we really liked it. The bed was one of the most comfortable we have experienced!

We went to the pool, which was a huge mistake. Freezing water, which is a shame, as it would have been a lovely experience if it was heated. We also ordered a drink and were accused of putting it on someone else's room number. My name was listed on our room first and when my husband put his name down, they questioned this. We had to prove who we were to them, even though we had only just checked in and the same people were working there. They didn't even check our details on the computer, but made us stand there until they checked our passports. We were very disappointed to be treated this way, especially as if they had done some initial checks, i.e. look on the system and see the names on the room, they would have seen this!

From here the rest of our experience was disappointing. We were not informed of a dress code at breakfast and had to return to our rooms to get changed. We stayed at the Lebua, which has a dress code, but this dress code is communicated to you when you check in and there are signs everywhere. We were unaware of this and my husband was not allowed to eat in the restaurant until he covered his shoulders. Very strange! The way it was communicated was very rude and we wouldn't have had a problem if we were informed upon check in.

We stayed in a biz class club room, and were able to use the club lounge. The club lounge was not in the same league as others we have previously stayed in, but we must say this was the best experience at the hotel. The staff in the club lounge were very friendly and laid back. The food was lovely, but we had one bad experience and got sick from one of the dishes. However, it was a nice atmosphere and we met some nice fellow guests in the lounge.

As part of our package, we were meant to have a turn down service each night, but this was only offered once during our stay. We didn't complain, which is our own fault, but in a hotel such as this, it would be expected that you don't need to constantly call and follow up on services that are advertised.

We paid for any charges to our room the night before we checked out, as we had an early start the next morning. We then checked out on our way out and were again presented with the same bill, which was marked unpaid. This was resolved swiftly as we had our receipt, but again, something that shouldn't be happening in a hotel of this standard.

We are happy we experienced the architecture of the hotel, which is really the main thing it has going for it. The other plus is that the hotel is in a great central location. We wouldn't recommend people to stay here, until the staff are trained better and are much more friendly. The hotel needs to sort out their services and start to deliver them much more efficiently. Service is everything and we feel we were let down by the Siam@Siam.

Room Tip: Biz class rooms are a great size and beds are very comfy!

Dear guest,

Thank you very much for your recent stay and the honest feedback to Siam@Siam Design Hotel & Spa. It was our pleasure to learn that you are happy with the architecture of the hotel and the bed’s comfortable as well as service at executive zone.
As you know, Bangkok locates in the tropical zone, so we did not put the temperature controller in the swimming pool. By the way, your comment brings it to the consideration.
And please be assured that, we are taking serious on your express about service.
Dress code for restaurants should be carefully informed to all customers since check in or at least with polite way at the outlet. Problem solution and the quick response to the clients will be the first thing we are focusing on the training.
Thank you once again for your review and please be informed that we are always welcoming you back to show our improvement.

Sincerely,
Krisda Wongtarathip

We have been staying two nights at the siam at siam. The hotel itself is cool, with its design and the pool is amazing. The rooms are okay, but not cleaned properly. The bedsheets weren't clean at all. In the hallway there is a strange smell... maybe from the aircondition or the floor... everywhere in bangkok the rooms are cooled down to arctic temperatures.... i always had to wear a jacket inside and still caught a cold....

The breakfast buffet was good, lots of choices and tasty food.

The hotels location is good, the bts is very close.... in my opinion too close... we had a room on the 16 floor and it was quite noisy, especially on the weekend... couldn't sleep very well and had ear pluggs in...the beds are very comfortable.

I think i would stay here again, but i'm sure there are better places to be in bangkok..

A very nice and modern hotel right next to many shopping centers. Clean, comfortable and very good breakfast.
You can spend half a day just visiting every level of the hotel.
If you love jogging, the National Stadium is just across the road.

My family and I stayed six days at Siam@Siam in August 2012 and really enjoyed the experience. We got a good off-season deal for biz class than included use of the lounge on the 22nd floor.

The decor throughout is pretty funky with lots of warm autumnal colours, comfortable beds, roof top bar and restaurant with great views over Bangkok. The kids (boys 8 and 10) loved the pool and often went before breakfast and after a hard days walking. We deliberately chose to see Bangkok from the street and some days, such as when we walked from Siam to the Grand Palace/ reclining buddha etc, we did over 20,000 steps.

Unlike other reviews we didn't find the distance to the skytrain station to be anything like 10 minutes - 4 maybe? The skytrain was great to beat the traffic and we used ir a number of times to go to Chatachak markets, to the river to catch a ferry and visit a number of sites including Wat Arun as well as an excellent meal at Nahm (a Michelin star Thai restaurant owned and run by David Thompson an Australian chef whose Sydney restaurant Sailor's Thai we'd been to with the kids many times).

The location of Siam@Siam is excellent with not only MBK mall just a few minutes walk away but also Paragon Mall, Gaythorn Plaza, other malls whose names escape me the Contemporary Arts Museum, Erewan Shrine. We even took the kids iceskating in one of the plazas which in 35C heat (95F) outside was kind of weird but typical of the contradictions of Bangkok - from beggars to Prada in just a few paces. In our walks we also stumbled across the snake farm (past the university) and stayed for a demonstration of milking cobras for their venom.

The staff were very friendly and helpful from the moment we were picked up at the airport and offered cool towels and chilled water which we appreciated as it was -5C (23F) when we left Australia earlier that day. The rooms were well cleaned but the wifi was slowish at times. We were on the 22nd floor (overlooking Jim Thompsons House) and didn't find any problem with traffic noise.

Breakfasts in the lounge on level 22 were excellent with a chef in attendance to cater for requests as well as a nice selection of fruit, buffet hot breakfast, cheeses and salads. The lounge also does happy hour every evening as part of the deal. We only got there on our last evening but the canapes drinks and view from the balcony after some cooling rain were great.

Overall a comfortable hotel with friendly staff in a great location.

Room Tip: Ones further away from the main road will be quieter from street noise.
