“What a peaceful place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2013

we stayed the PM at the beginning of a Asia trip with our children, aged 4 and 9. And it's been such a special and relaxing place, that we booked for some days at the end of our journey, too. The staff is really friendly and helpful, everything is prepared and designed so lovingly – we felt like coming home. First choice for next time we're in Bangkok. Yes, it is a gem.

We spent one night after we arrived from France.
We appreciated the quiet and slowly way of life.
Our 6 yrs old daugther could play in the garden with other children.
Room are clean and big enough for a family.

We really enjoyed our stay at Pra-Nakon Norn-Len. I really enjoyed the earthy back-to-the-basics feel. The rooms were very comfortable, the roof-top area was wonderful, and the food and freshly squeezed juices were awesome. If I was looking for a place to stay in BKK again I would consider this place. The price is the only thing that would hold me back. The place isn't fancy by any means, which I like. But the price doesn't seem to be justified.

It was certainly a nice and special hostel.
Got beautiful wall painting and great breakfast(tasty and seemed to be healthy as well)
Quiet location and not that hard to get a tuktuk. Close to the port, so it's quite convinient to get to places like Grand palace.
Also, the reception was really helpful, though some of the info they gave weren't exactly right.

However I expected the hostel to be more uh.. "morden". It was more like a old day memory museum, a small but nice one. Got fans in the room(also AC) and stuff. Just wasn't what I expected, But it would be a nice place for people who want to take a slow vocation and relax.

After visiting family in the UK for a month, we decided to break the long flight home with a couple of days in Bangkok and found this place on Tripadvisor. What a find! The hotel is beautiful: very quirky decor, tranquil common areas, friendly staff and close to everything.

I'm traveling on my own with my 8 and 6 year olds so booked a family room. We were blown away when we walked in. Every wall is painted, mural style, with fantastic retro designs and the centerpiece is a very artistic wall painting of a Thai Yaksha giant, decorated with gold paint and looks stunning. There are two sleeping beds plus a huge four-poster daybed with murals all around.

There are fans as well as air con in the room so we have been cooling the room down with air con in the evening before turning it off before bed, leaving the fans on all night. A door opens onto a small balcony for a bit of "fresh" Bangkok air. It is so much more pleasant than being stuck in the artificial obligatory air con fustiness of a big hotel!

The whole of the ground floor walls are decorated with replica vintage Thai shop booths, each set into the wall like a real stall, and each floor has mural paintings depicting various Thai scenes. There are little nooks everywhere with some treasure from times gone by to discover.

Last but certainly not least, there is a child friendly roof top bar with an incredible view of a huge golden Buddha which is lit up at night.

Breakfast is provided and is a set menu each morning. The kids ate some of it and then gobbled down some toast with honey on. I thought it was delicious. You can also order between 12-10pm from a small but tasty menu, or there are plenty of places nearby to eat.

I nearly didn't book this hotel as it doesn't have a pool, but am really glad I did. The kids have made some friends amongst the other traveling children here and have spent hours playing hide and seek, playing in the large playroom, or hanging out on the swing on the main deck, while I lie on the Thai recliners reading and drinking in the ambience, or planning our adventures using the free Wifi.

We will definitely return here next time we're in Bangkok, next time for a longer stay, it's a real gem.

We spent the last two nights of our trip in Thailand.
During the 21 days of our trip we saw any kind of accommodation so we're able to tell that Phrana is the perfect hotel in thailand: it mixes any other traditional or modern accommodation we saw in that country.
You can relax in the garden, you can surf the net, you can lay down in your room surrounded by colors, and you're in the city but far away from city noises or chaos.
It's perfect if you're a backpackers, it's perfect if you're a shabby chic traveller and it's perfect even if you're a hipster... well, quite perfect cause hipsters are never completely satisfied.
So...Stay there and don't move.
