“I love this place!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2014

This is a great hotel that is run very well. The staff here are courteous and exceptionally professional. Our room was clean, quite and very comfortable. The location of the hotel is within a short walking distance (maybe 10 min) to Sukhumvit, Nana Skytrain Station. It is easy to catch a taxi out front however, due to Bangkok's traffic and the hotel's close proximity to Nana Plaza Entertainment it sometimes takes a while for the taxi to get out of the congestion. Best to allow an extra 15/20 minutes if you are going to the airport to catch a flight. If you want good value for your money and a hotel that is safe, clean & relatively close transportation - this is the place to be!

As already said one wing is being refurbished, but that's the cost of improving things for paying guests.

It's mostly the same decent standard as it was, but the fridge door on my room kept sticking; first day, I tugged at it like a tw@t until it burst open with great gusto, spilling bottled beer on the floor, one of which broke and had to be cleaned up - especially the shards of glass. They tried to bill me for this when I checked out. Not best pleased. The fridge door never did get fixed.

But, in fairness, this is still a reasonable mid-range hotel for Bangkok. I know - I've stayed in much worse for a comparable price. So there's no restaurant? No problem, get out and explore, there's lots of cheap eateries in that area.

Oh, and the manager (?) remembered me from last time. Always a good sign ...

Don't know where the 'noisy' bit comes from ... I have never had that problem.

One wing of the Grande is closed and undergoing some slow refurbishment. The other wing has rooms with balconies overlooking the pool (can be noisy at times) and on the other side of the corridor the rooms have no balcony and not much of a view. The rooms are reasonably furnished and the wifi works well. There is no breakfast included and the café is deserted at all times of the day which suggests that the food is not good value. The laundry is a rip off and the hotel charges 200 baht for any extension past the 12pm check out time. The best point is the location in the quiet of Soi 6 but by paying a little more you could cross the road and stay in the much nicer Phachara Suites.

Room Tip: The pool is on the 3rd floor and if you want peace and quiet I suggest you ask for a room on the oth...

Dynasty Grande is an up market version of Dynasty Inn and worth the extra you pay for it. Situated in a quite soi, just around the corner from Dynasty Inn, the hotel is comfortable, clean and very pleasant. The Reastaurant food is only average but there are so many eating options nearby it does not really matter. The staff at the hotel are efficient and polite. The swimming pool is excellent. Located close to the sky train station and the bars and eating places of Sukumvit the hotel is an ideal place to stay.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the pool are very good but most rooms are pleasant to stayin

I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality and economy of this hotel.
I pass through Bangkok on the way to Europe twice per year and this hotel has become my favourite. Tried cheaper and tried more expensive but this place wins out.

Room Tip: All rooms are great.

The hotel is located on Soi 6, just a few minutes walking from Sukhumvit Road. Plenty of eating and drinking options in the area, and the Skytrain is nearby. But the hotel itself is quiet at night, and you will not be bothered by outside noise.

Friendly and attentive service in all parts of the hotel.

My room was on the 7th floor. No view to brag of from the room, you see directly into another building. Large room with a comfortable bed, chair, table, working desk, cabinet and a large bathroom with sink, shower, tub and toilet. Free and fast wifi in the rooms. The room was kept spotless by housekeeping.

The pool is on the third floor, and is ok size with plenty of comfortable sun beds.

There was no breakfast included with my room, but the hotel has a restaurant that does nice and cheap food all day. Plenty of other options if you want to eat outside. You can walk over to soi 4 in a couple of minutes.

Half of the hotel seemed to be undergoing renovations when I was there, but there was no noise from the work that I heard.

Having stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions, the first being in July 2010, it is my preferred choice whilst either on holiday or conducting business in Bangkok. It’s perfectly located (Soi 6) off Sukhumvit Rd, with easy access to all the major shopping centres, including but not limited to MBK and Central. Its only 20+ minutes in a taxi from Suvarnabhumi Airport, and is within close proximity to varied restaurants, night markets, clubs etc. The facilities are great, WiFi included, as well as the rooms, service and staff. One feature about the room is the recessed day bed built into the window/wall recess which allows pleasant views over the pool and a great spot to read. The rooms are well equipped with aircon, fridge, tea/coffee facilities and a safe. All TV’s are flat screen and the bed/furniture etc cannot be faulted. With respect to the reception and check in/out procedure, the staff are extremely helpful, polite and nothing is an inconvenience to them. They always ensure you stay in the Dynasty meets your expectations and will assist you in any way possible to make your stay more enjoyable as well as arranging taxies or other services. I cannot fault this hotel and would highly recommend it to any person either overnighting or staying in Bangkok.

Room Tip: Walking distance to Charlie's Kitchen - a great place to eat.
