This air conditioned Apartment Hotel has the advantage of a kitchenette consisting of a stove, sink, dishes. This makes a long term holiday more affordable since we can prepare our own meals in the room. A big screen T.V. with satelite is included, and so is Wi Fi. There is a grocery market within a 3 minute walk from this Citadines Sukhumvit 11 in Thailand. There is also a nice dining/bar on the main level. The roof top pool is a shallow narrow lap pool, lacks enough lounge chairs, would prefer a deeper diving pool. There is a small exercise room next to the pool which is sufficient. Laundry room facility for a fee is on the top floor also and is handy. Our room smelled musty, but it was clean. Daily housekeeping is included. Friendly staff, but most of the locals have a difficult time understanding English, your various restaurant orders come with the wrong order 95% of the time. The night life is awesome, lots of vendors for gifts, also lots of food vendors and many mobile bars line the streets. The Sky Train is a 8 minute walk and is very affordable and super fast. If you want an exciting way to get around, hop on a cool and fun Tuk Tuk type taxi ride which is like a very fast motorcycle/golf cart ride. Most are lit up with multi couloured LED lights, beautiful at night to see them whipping around the streets. It's a riot. Many Temples to visit, Ancient City is memorable, don't forget your camera and have lots of memory in your stick. The floating market is totally eye opening, this should be on your list of "must do", you will love it, bring enough money to shop and be prepared to bargain. It is expected and fun. Regular taxi cabs are very affordable, you can't go wrong, but be cautious to only use reputable ones recomended by your hotel office. There are shady ones out there, so travel carefully. Prior to your travels, you will need to change your PIN number on your debit/credit cards to only 4 digits, Thailand does not recognize larger digits numbers. Do your homework before travel on the value of your dollar in Thai money which is "Batts" in their currency. You will get the hang of it. I recommend the Sukhumvit Citadines 11 for safety and cleanliness. A bit pricey but better than being in a bad neighbourhood. P.S. Stay on the busy streets, do not walk along side streets, they can be spooky, dangerous and unsafe. I would suggest not being alone in desolate areas and stay in groups if possible. Don't want to scare you, but there is lots of poverty there and being mugged / pickpocked is a problem. Keep your cash in a money belt. This beautiful trip is something worth experiencing to learn their culture awareness, to learn and enjoy all it has to offer. Enjoy. (We were a large group of about 40 since we travelled there from Canada to attend my nephews wedding. So glad I experienced this. We also spent 4 days at Koh Samed Island resort. That was beautiful and peaceful and so much fun since we were there for the New Years Beach Party. Those 3 1/2 weeks in Thailand will leave a lasting fond memory in my mind forever.
