After the Luxx being recommended by friends who had stayed there over a year ago we booked on line to spend three nights at the Luxx for the start of our honeymoon. We ended up having to arrive a day late and we were not charged any cancellation fees which was nice.

We arrived at the hotel late at night after having been traveling for 24 hours. We were greeted by very friendly staff who could speak a little English. There were free bottles of water in the lobby and little candies and cookies as well.

Our initial impression of the hotel was that it was not as nice as it looked on the website however the staff were friendly. We were brought up to our room and just after the porter left I found a very large cockroach in the tub.

We were moved to another room where I found an extremely large spider on the window.

We were again moved to another room. No giant insects were found however there were ants. We would have checked out immediately but by this time it was after midnight and we didn't know where to go. We checked out at 6 and headed to the Park Plaza Sukumvit which was only $30 a night more and much more what we had been hoping for.

Pros:
nice staff, supposedly in a good central location, free water and wireless internet

Cons:
giant insects in the room, carpets stained, did not appear clean, main areas not air conditioned, wooden tubs are not hygienic, shower sprays onto wall causing mold and water damage, breakfast was not good

This place is located in the center of everything, all within walking distanace to the night market, metro station. My friends and I stayed there for 3 nights, and had a great time. The place is a little small but very clean, and thats all we really cared about anyways, a place to sleep and shower.

Positives:
* Staff very helpful and polite
* Location was great, within walking distance of Patpong market and the Ferry Taxi, yet very quiet
* Rooms were clean, tidy and comfortable.
* Free sweets, chocolate, water and DVD's to rent!

Negatives
* Rooms quite small, although may be on account of having the cheapest rooms.
* Breakfast was large, though only a 3/5 in terms of quality

We booked our hotel via Mr & Mrs Smith and had no worries of the standard because of the endorsement from the company.

When we arrived the porter came straight out to collect the bags from the taxi, on walking in we were greated by a lovely receptionist and offered two well needed drinks!!!

Our room was simple but catered to our needs, huge king bed, Tv and Dvd. Remote air con a blessing during those hot nights!
Free Wi Fi and minibar.

Breakfast is included which can either be taken in the bar area or in bed. The choice was plentiful and would satisfie most diets. We opted for in bed and was promt each morning.

Great dvd libary and tour guides in reception with free bottled water and chocolate bars!!!!

There is no pool but you can pay to use the sofitel next door for a small charge.

Cheap Bar/cafe/internet turn right out of the hotel called Lub D.

Perfect hotel for few nights in BKK, for the price I dont think you could ask for more.

Yes it is stlighty worn in places, but the little touches make up for it, You wont be spending much time in your room with all the sight seeing to be done, and in the evening you must start with drinks at Vertigo!!!
