I had a Junior Suite for 16 nights. It was a great sized room for such a long stay - especially since I was undergoing medical procedures every second day and so I was relaxing in the room every other day. (not into shopping or sightseeing so I cant really comment on those aspects).

Room contained a king size bed (one mattress - not two queens pushed together) - good firm mattress and good selection of medium to firm pillows.
Lap top sized safe.
Umbrella and torch.
Plenty of cupboards and wardrobe space.
Dinner setting and cutlery for 2.
Little 2 burner stove top with cooking pots and frying pans.
Multiple cooking utensils, bottle opener etc.
Microwave.
Kettle.
Toaster.
Full sized fridge/freezer (which I noted was on a different power supply to the rest of the room so it remains on when you leave the room).
Two water bottles per day.
Sink, dish drainer, tea towel.
Stereo that was also a 3 disc dvd player.
Good sized desk with USB cable for the free broadband.
Balcony with sliding door.
Small dining table with two chairs, desk chair, single seat sofa and double seat sofa, large coffee table.
Good amount of lightning choices.
Bathroom contained large refillable plungers of nice quality shampoo, shower gel, and body lotion. Nice good sized plush towels, hand towels and flannels/washcloths.
Good strong hot shower over a bath.

Check in was smooth and prompt. I hadnt been prewarned about the necessity to swipe a credit card for the value of 2000 baht per day for the full amount of days of the stay but as they assured me they didnt actually hold the funds from your card - I was ok with it.

All staff, from the reception, the bell boys, the guards, the housekeepers etc greeted you warmly every time they saw you and always stopped for a chat.

There is a little C Mart (like a 7-11) that has a back entrance with room key card access from the foyer of the hotel. It stocks some favourite brands from anyones home such as icecream, cookies, alcohol (for Aussies there were even Tim Tams !).

There is a normal hotel laundry service, but there is also a coin operated laundry available.

Very pretty clean pool and spa area on floor F (same floor as the restaurant) - about 6 or 7 floors up. Well appointed gym and childrens play room.

Particular positives:
- I liked that there was a boom gate at the entrance which prevented the entry of cab and tuk tuk touts. When you needed a taxi the security guards summonsed only metred cabs and let them in. The guards also confirmed your destination and passed it on to the driver so there was no miscommunication.

- The entire hotel and grounds was spotless. Kept beautifully clean throughout my stay.

Negatives:
- Restuarant and room service menu does not include alcohol or deserts.
- Breakfast buffet is very bland and unexciting, unpleasant having to walk through the smokers to get to the indoor section.
- Reception on the TV was pretty much lousy. Every station bar a couple were extremely snowy.

The area:
Well I wasnt exploring much due to my medical appointments but this is what I can tell you.
- Burger King just diagonally opposite the hotel entrance (handy for a point of reference when coming back in cabs). There is a pizza place a couple of doors down.

- Pantip Plaze (IT stuff) is diagonally opp Burger King on the other side of Petchburi Road - access is via the big up and over walkways.
- KFC and a nice bakery beneath Pantip Plaza.
- On Petchburi just beyond the entrance to the C Mart is another sizable 7-11, a chemist/pharmacist, multiple markets and stores. There is also a large botox place - if you really feel the need! Plenty of massage places and little cafes as well as the usual food stalls.
- Pratunum markets and the bigger Pratunum Plaza are a 5 minute stroll down Petchburi.

All in all I was extremely satisifed with this hotel/serviced apartment. It had everything I needed for the duration of my stay and it was clean and tidy with lovely staff. I would definitely stay here again if I was to return and would definitely recommend it to friends.

  • Liked — Forgot to mention that on a couple of accasions I had to call reception for assistance with the broadband connection (I lost the ISP) and my safe (I locked myself out of it!) - they were at my door within 2 minutes and fixed the problems immediately.
  • Disliked — Again - the bland breakfast menu and lack of drinks and desert on the lunch/dinner menu.

The hotel and our room was very clean. The bathroom was on the small side but did have a bath. We got a special internet rate which included a kitchen. Great for heating things up in the microwave or making a cup of tea. The free internet was good as was the DVD player already connected to the TV. A large range of English speaking TV channels and some European. There was a very small balcony but no outdoor furniture.

The breakfast buffet is the largest I have seen in all my travels. When available you can sit outside near the pool which is lovely. Avoid having breakfast after 9:30am as its very crowded and you may have to wait to find a table. There is no obvious direction or signs on the buffet so people walked in either direction and often bumped into each other, or push past.

There is a pool and heated jacuzzi, gym and small sauna. The rooms use a magnetic swipe card to gain access to the room and put electricity on. Ours kept switching off, 8 times within an hour, so I called reception. Within mintues (literally) a supervisor was at the door, then a workman with tools. He removed the old swipe point and replaced it, taking approx 15mins. This worked till that evening when I had to call again and once again have it fixed. I was unable to work on the computer whilst this was happening which was an annoyance. Although the supervisor appologised, she never offered a change or room, complimentary drink, fruit basket etc.

Despite the vast number of rooms, we could only see 3 lifts, which always took several minutes to come. Check out is 12noon and the electricity goes off then in the room. 20mins prior, reception called to make sure we were indeed leaving. He never offered to send a porter for the luggage, so we carried it down ourselves. Again, only a small point but worth noting. All staff had a good command of English. Reception staff could be more attentive and not talk among themsevles when customers are waiting. Overall a terrific hotel and I would definately stay there again.

  • Liked — Huge breakfast buffet
  • Disliked — Lack of good will gift for workman fixing electricity in our room

Centrepoint Petchburi deserves to be choice of stay in Bangkok bcos the room is huge, beautiful, clean, good location, nice breakfast, sizable swimming pool. It even comes with gymn and laundry room.

It's a perfect apartment studio for whoever demands comfort, security and location.

Located just opposite Pantip Plaza, 15 mins walk to Big C, Isetan and Erawan, it is the premier location which one can be sure, you are always near to the shopping centres. Need not worry about the 15mins slow pace walk to the Ratchatewi BTS. It is so near to Pratunam that if you dare to walk alone, you can find lots of bargains from food to clothings.

Breakfast is worth a mention here, it offers local and American Breakfast. Though the breakfast area is small...it still can accomodate at least 30 guests at one time.

There's a DVD library which you can rent and have a movie marathon in your room. By the way, there's a Sony 29" TV in the room with a Sony DVD Hi Fi. It also comes with a safe box in the room.

Centrepoint Petchburi is the choice, as good as Citadines Bangkok as written in my other review. See my photos.

I have been a regular guest at Centre point for more than 7 years and it’s a great place to stay. I have tried many other properties but this one stands out in terms of convenience. Most of my work is located around that area and therefore its useful. For others, it must be noted that this is NOT a touristy area or an area with views as its in the midst of the cacophony of the garment wholesale market. Check in is usually swift and as mentioned by other reviews earlier, they always take your signature on a credit card value in excess of the stay and charge you for it. The rooms are either studios or one bedroom suites or a fabulous two bedroom penthouse suite. During this visit of mine, we had 2 studios with kitchen and they were luckily interconnecting and was very helpful for us as we had kids. Free high speed internet is provided and free breakfast for which you are given 2 coupons per room- irrespective of whether it is kids or adults. Housekeeping is good and security is well maintained. What upsets me a lot in this property is the lack of customer service from any point of view. As mentioned, I have been their guest on umpteen occasions and not once have they welcomed you back to their property. Its just any other person and doesn’t matter to them loyalty of any sort. Another irritating point is that everything is charged- ask for extra towels, extra blankets, extra pillows, baby crib, all are charged. Yes, it’s a tuppence of 20 or 30 baht but doesn’t look proper at all. Asking for a late check out is an impossible dream unless you know someone in the sales department and request them beforehand. Asking for it from the front desk staff will not be of any use. The property has a minimart downstairs and you can even call them to deliver items if you need.
Overall being so convenient for me, I try to ignore the other issues and continue to stay here albeit loyalty means nothing.

I had a free room at another hotel, but with several friends recommending Centre Point, I couldn't pass up the value and saved my free room for later. The rooms are large, with king bed, pull out twin, TV, kitchen area, two free small bottles of water, and free internet. Despite other reviews, I thought the included breakfast buffet was great, with fresh fruit, vegetables, cereals, rolls, yogurt, juices, Thai food, American breakfast, and cook-to-order eggs. When available, eating by the pool was nice. If you want to be in the garment district or go to the computer mall, it's in a great location, but for normal tourist sights be prepared to walk or take a taxi. From "The Official Bangkok Map" I picked up at the airport, I found the canal water taxi was about a 10-minute walk from the hotel. There was construction a few floors up from my room, but there was no problem moving into another room the day I was there to experience the pounding.
