4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2012

Very impressive apartment hotel. The rooms are huge (about 1200 sq feet) with full "dated" kitchen/living room/dining area. On upper floors the view is unbelievable. I was on the 19th floor facing the city. Gigantic balcony. The food was OK and room service quick. The pool area is very nice and super clean. The gym is bit run down but a dumbell is a dumbbell!! The staff extremely nice. Free wifi in lobby but not in rooms (LAN). I stayed there when they had a promotion so it was good value for me (I paid 60$/night) but in higher season they are much more expensive. So when I give 5 stars for value keep in mind what I paid. Location is excellent.. about 25 min walk to Silom or 1.50$ motorbike taxi. Lumpini Park close by. Old but well maintained and clean.

Room Tip: Ask for an upper floor... the view is to die for. All the "one" bedroom apartments are th...

The suites are huge. All the facilities are good. But beware-construction makes it hard to get to right now. I stayed twice recently. Once I came by taxi-- the driver had trouble finding the hotel. The second time I came in a group by bus - the driver searched for 15 minutes to find a way to the hotel. Only his great skill and daring got us there. I'm serious-- backing up in the dark.

I stayed at the Pantip Court in October 2012 for 4/5 Days and first impressions were good.
The reception area and other internal public areas, bar, restaurant toilets were immaculate.
The room allocated was on the fourth floor and as for all rooms looked out to the city skyline. Although not quite high enough to afford a good view. The room(suite) was huge with kitchen, dining area, lounge and access to a balcony. The bedroom again was very large with a king size bed and en-suite bathroom.
So: The room although fully functional was dated with old carpets and furnishings especially the bed with sheets and blankets rather than duvets. There was no balcony furniture and the shower head would not stay still so made showering akward.
No problems with service as the room was serviced daily and, as with the rest of the hotel appeared to be kept clean.
Did not use the kitchen other than the fridge/kettle but all appeared to work.
The aircon worked fine the TV was usual Thai quality with some international channels.
The restaurant was only used for breakfast which catered for all tastes and was replenished frequently. Prices for lunch/dinner were expensive as eating out goes, so chose to eat elsewhere.
The pool area was very quiet with towels supplied and plenty of sunbeds, there were a view broken tiles around the pool but the pool itself was fine. For sunbathing go in the morning as the hotel blocks the sun in the afternoon. Did not use the qym or massage facilites but the gym seemed well equiped.
Reception staff were all very helpful and polite but could not offer a later checkout so I paid for another night to allow me to leave at 19:00.
Wifi only works in reception area.
Location was suited to business as quite a distance from Bangkok nightlife with not much happening close by. There were roadworks outside which meant the road was congested so add time for taxis and connections until completed. Quite close to BTS, Lumphini Park and boxing arena.

Rated average as there are plenty of other hotels for this price in Bangkok which offer similar standards but might be better located.

Room Tip: Higher floors have a better view.

We stayed at Pantip Suites a total of six nights, going and coming on an OAT trip. Two different suites were enormous but tired. The balcony view of the Bangkok skyline - if you are high enough - is great, and the elevators a speedy marvel. The pool is lovely. However, the non-redecorated lower rooms are very tired. The bed was great but our towels in both instances were very shabby. Both times I got a respirory infection while staying there (maybe from the old carpet?).

Breakfast was mediocre. There was not a great choice of fruit and every day the food in the chafing dishes was cool. Or cold. The best choice was eggs freshly made to order.
The staff, however, was friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Get as high as possible, for a renovated room.

What a superb place to stay! All the review here real, the apartments are huge and a bargain! Location is good and service is friendly and helpful.

Room decor is dated and needs a refresh but beds are really really comfy. They did not proved a DVD player as stated on their website (but will on request if they have a spare one) and TV’s are still the old type (not flat screen).

Only thing is that the kitchen facilities (microwave and cooker) are old and cooking equipment (crockery, cutlery, glassware etc) are limited i.e. maybe 2 sets. They obviously are not expecting you to cook or eat there as they don’t even provide any cleaning materials to wash them.

Breakfast was OK. Only free wi-fi provided in the lobby.

But loved staying there and will definitely recommend!

5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2012

We stayed for a week and found Pantip Suites the perfect getaway in Bangkok - amazing for the price. The rooms were huge, with a fully functional kitchen, dining table, lounge area with sofa and coffee table, and writing desk, big balcony and huge bedroom and bathroom too, all for £30 a night - including a really good buffet breakfast with Asian and Western options, and access to gym, pool, sauna and steam room too. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was cleaned every day. The location wasn't great as they were repaving the road which made walking down difficult, but the train station was still easy walking distance, and the hotel offered a free transfer service which was convenient too. Would highly recommend!

Pantip suites is part of the Pantip court. It attempts to be very luxurious and pricey, but that is only on the surface.
The carpets seemed old and worn and were patched.
The shower head kept turning to the side spilling water on the floor. For the cost of the room, we expected that it would be better maintained.
Breakfast was fair, but lunch and dinner were awful.
It certainly wasn't good value for the price.

Room Tip: If you are looking for very spacious accommodations, this is for you.
