“Hidden treasure in Bangkok!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2012

Pantip Suites (formerly Pantip Court) is a serviced apartment, witch means you get the comfort of a large private apartment, with all the service in a hotel. All suites and probably the largest rooms in Thailand. All have large balconies (unfurnished) with great views of Bangkok city (check out the sunrise), beds are medium/hard (soft/medium/hard) and the rates are almost a give-away. Strong and quiet air condition, adjustable in all rooms. The kitchen don`t have an oven, but two stove tops, micro and simple basic pots, pans and cutlery. As no renax is supplied, they do your dishes every day. Breakfast buffet is included, basic+, but in/outdoor option. Doorman is legendary in this hotel (he got new trousers now) and arriving/departure is always a treat. L-shaped cold pool outside, but few sun loungers. Seldom any crowd. Located in Sathorn, easy access to shopping, nightlife, sights and dining. Nearby you have dining options, 7/11 and 24/7 restaurant (Malaysia Hotel) and Babylon. In walking distance you have LifeSenter with Starbucks, hairdressers (good/cheap, his/hers), dining, bookshop, pharmacy, dining and the MRT, underground train. Pantip also give free transport to Lumphini Park, Skytrain station.

* Smoke Friendly *
* Gay Friendly *

The thing about Pantip is that you can get a two bedroom suite (162m2), with two and a half baths, kitchen, storage, plush sofa seating, dining table, 3 TVs and a very large balcony with fabulous view. Often as low as 3500B in the upper executive floors. The best bargain in town! So what is the downside?

Don`t expect someone to help you with everything, but always welcoming and friendly staff. Forget e-mail requests or problem solving. It do not happen. Room-service (overall not that great food, but the Paneng is one of the best in Asia and soups are great) close at 24:00 They never seems to update this at their website, even after the new layout, and the cleaning should be much better, at least between bookings. They don`t change the linens as often as stated either. You have to ask (and watch). The rooms are worn down, old furniture (very comfortable, though) and there might be missing a light here and there. Don`t expect faults to be fixed quickly and make sure you have some extra time with the returning of laundry. The art-of-class cake-shop and chocolatiere on the first floor, is sadly closed.

I must admit that I love this place. I have stayed at The Peninsula, Oriental and Lebua, but always return home to Pantip Suites. Some of the faults might irritate me, but the size of the suites, the friendly, but all so unwillingly, staff and the view from the large balcony is something you seldom find in Bangkok at this rates. Clean enough, very comfortable and the service is only on a need to know basis. The walls are thick and almost soundproof (almost). I have stayed here over 10 times (NO bedbugs) and will for sure return again. It`s more like a home and I just want to stay there for a long time. Free Internet and one TV-channel also surveillance the reception area. Cool :-)

ThePenthouseSuite (Three bedrooms) is only by request and cost 20 000B.

:-)

Check-in was easy. The suites at the hotel are very roomy. Large living rooms with separate bedroom. Kitchens allow for preparing/serving small meals. Breakfast buffet was part asian part western. Room service is very responsive - had to have a bedding change on the first night due to stains discovered at bedtime. They arrived quickly. Aircon was like refrigeration and the system drips if it is turned off. There was also water condensation in the halls. Location requires taxi or auto. Room service food quality was mainly good - wonton soup, tom ka gai, fried rice, chicken satay - but forget the french fries. This hotel is not super new but it is a good deal for the space.

Room Tip: Our room faced the pool and garden area. With windows and balcony doors closed, there is little nois...

This is the best value for money. Big, huge apartment. Maybe a bit run out of date, but it was nice and clean. Good locatio. Ok deep in the soi and off the main road but walking distance to the nearest MRT.
I was here with my family and we had each a seperate bedroom and bathroom. It was very luxury. I will come back to this place.

I have stayed at top hotels around the world. But this time My Budget was less as I was going there for my wife Medical Treatment. This hotel is the best I have stayed in. The Staff is Great and very Accommodating. I had booked the hotel for 12 days but due to some issue I had to come back in Six days. After talking to the Reservation Department they Immediately Agreed and told me that the remaining 6 Days I can Use the Next month when I am back again. I have not seen this in any hotel.

Yes the road is being Constructed but the hotel is now providing pick and drop so that the customer should have no issues with the Jams. The Rooms are huge and great at this price. Similar Kind of properties with Half the size of the room are charging double. Only One suggestion to the hotel. Please Improve the Breakfast and Add things for Indians as we do not take Beef and Pork

I highly recommend this hotel and when ever I am in Bangkok will stay here only.

On my last trip here there were roadworks (flood drain enhancement) on Sathorn Soi 1 so that it took a long time to get taxis and often returning drivers needed to take a long detour via Suan Phlu. There is a possible shorter route via Suan Phlu 8 and Soi Nantha-mozart but it is blocked by one of those rolling barriers.

The pool actually starts closing about 6PM though it is said to be open till 7PM. The courtesy vehicle requires a 1 hour advance booking. Breakfast is poor with most items being not of good quality, except for shredded carrot and cabbage leaves and lettuce leaves.
.
On arrival I brought several room deficiencies to the attention of staff. I should not be the quality controller I should be the guest.

Rooms/suites are very large with possibly original carpets (20 years?). The balcony rail is quite low but afaik nobody has toppled over. I wish they'd give me rooms on a lower floor though. Decoration needs a refresh and maybe some flowers instead of fruit. The furnishing is solid wood, quite reasonably priced when bought I expect but hardly 4* in the 21st century.

Room Tip: There are only two types available so it depends on whether youget vertigo or not.

This penthouse hotel was brilliant. huge 1 bedroom flats and being on the 19th floor, we had a marvelous view of the city. 5 minute walk to the underground station and a 5 minute drive to patpong. This hotel was spotless with a huge swimming pool. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I can't wait to visit this hotel again.

Stayed here pre and post thailand OAT tour. Rooms are very large full apartment suites (full kitchen and living room) with marvelous large balconies all with panoramic views of the city skyline. altho a little dated and in need of overhaul, quite comfortable. Location convenient to Mali restaurant around the corner where you can get great 'Michigan burgers' if you need a change from Thai. Hotel restaurant not so hot and overpriced.
