“MOST COMFORTABLE BEDS IN THAILANF”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2011

Whilst in Bangkok i always stay at Tarntawan Place Banngkok,i recently had 2 shorts stays there in Feb/March 2011, i always stay in a front facing Surrawaong Room as they have enormous beds, these beds are the most comfortable of any hotel that i have ever stayed in,the Tarntawan Places directors Lukas and Markus really make you feel welcome, and every Thursday night they have a free cocktail hour between 6.30pm-7.30pm,which is a great idea as you get to meet the other guests who come from all over the world, the staff are really good, and once the staff get to know your face they never forget your name,so whenever i go to Bangkok in the future i will always stay at Tarntawan Place

First time stayer but even on first arrival treated like a long lost friend - on a second stay later in the trip moreso. It's not the most chic, probably not the cheapest either -but if you want a well priced, v e r y comfortable, very clean hotel centrally located with top notch staff this is the place. Situated down a quite Soi-it's very handy for everywhere. Found myself lingering in the (24 hour) restaurant or the comfortable chairs outside far more than I antipated 'Unexpected friends to stay' handled with aplomb and with security in mind if needed. It might be a tad chipped or frayed in palces but for me it added to the charm and was really nice to get away from the international chain boxes..think more US 20 or so years ago with a very high service level. The staff are very good and offer an outstanding service level day or night. Will be back for sure

I found Tarntawan Place on the internet and read reviews on Trip Advisor. This is a wonderful place, centrally located, and near everything you want. The staff is exceptionally attentive and friendly and work hard to make your stay enjoyable. The room was very comfortable with a separate sleeping room, wireless internet, and all the amenities you would like.

The hotel is centrally located with Sky Train a couple blocks away, and the nightlife within close walking distance. The hotel has a nice restaurant for those times you just want to sit, relax, and eat in comfort.

The rates are very reasonable and they car arrange for a car to meet you at the airport so if you arrive late, it's an easy trip to the hotel.

Would recommend Tarntawan Place to others and will return there again.

The location of this hotel can not be beat for access to the great nightlife in Bangkok. And the train and subway are within walking distance, everything is only a 10 minute tuk tuk away if you do not want to walk. The hotel staff are very nice and freindly, breakfast any time of the day and you fell welcome for sure. The rooms are a good size the beds are huge and very clean. Hotel does need a bit of an update, but the price is good for what you get. Stayed here often and will return again, it is my home in Bangkok

The service and friendliness of the staff at Tarntawan is top notch. It's very secure with someone always at the elevator, and while there is no room safe, they have secure boxes at reception. Every afternoon, you'll receive some fruit, and two bottles of water each day. However, the refrigerator turns off when you leave the room, so you won't have cold drinks when you return. One thing I liked is the 'control console' next to the bed to turn off/on the 'do not disturb' light, and control most of the lights in the room. The free wireless access was fine from the room. The TV did not have very many good channels. The room was average size and the carpeting throughout the hotel needs changed. The included breakfast is ok, but I was uncomfortable trying to eat while sitting in the lounge chairs and could not get close enough to the table. There is a cocktail party in the lobby each week, and it was nice chatting with the manager. The hotel location is great if you're into partying, as it's all outside hotel just down the street. For my two month stay, it was too much and I moved to a quieter neighborhood after one week. For short stays, or if you like battling the crowds as soon as you step onto the sidewalk, the location is fine.

We stayed three nights in December 2010 - two couples from New Zealand. Really friendly and relaxed environment, good location if you're partying in Silom area. Decent price for the quality of the rooms. Good breakfast options. Very helpful staff. Love that the reception / bar is open 24 hrs, especially since flights all seem to arrive in Bangkok around midnight. One in our party left a Blackberry in his room and they called us about it and kept it till we were back in town two weeks later. Great stuff!

I stayed here based on the mixed reviews and my individual needs. Overall, the property is in a great location to many bars, attractions and transportation. The security at the hotel is great as are much of the staff. There are a few who need an attitude adjustment but I'll leave that for another forum. The breakfast included in the cost of the room was delicious and the wait service was great. What i have a problem with is the room itself. The carpeting was filthy filthy dirty and needed a deep cleaning or even better; complete replacement. Some of the upholstery, like the headboard was stained from grease or hair color. I'd rather that part of a bed not be upholstered at all (just a suggestion in case the management is responsive to change) . While most of the hotel seemed clean the carpeting in the halls really needed replacement. They were worn, tattered, stained and old. Can't fault the people who work there, they can only do so much with what they are given. The internet connection in the room was spotty. Other then the carpet and upholstery issues in the room it was an ok place to stay. There definitely are nicer, better hotels for the same price. Shop around for yourself and then decide.
