“bring money and bargain”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2013

take your time, get a map and indicate your favorite places. Look around, bargain, and just buy a lot. Things are cheap, especially silk, but also look in the section for paper and gift bags. I did almost all my shopping here, bags full of little presents for everyone at home. You'll find the same in other markets but not as much and at a higher price.

“Great shopping”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2013

My husband and I went to Chatuchak weekend on a Sunday. It is defaintely HUGE! When you arrive grab a map from one of the security people walking around. They will hand you one for free and show you where you are on the map. We arrived at the market around 10am and shopping until 3pm where we couldn't carry anymore things! They have everything that you can think of!
Things to know - there is no where to sit for a rest! Unless you are okay with sitting on the ground like we did we didn't find any restaurants or places to just have a sit for a rest at any stage.
Bring a bag with wheels - we were quite silly and didn't bring anything to put the things we bought into as we walked around therefore we ran out of hands! If you're planning on doing your holiday shopping at this market (which i recommend to do) bring your carryon suitcase or a big bag. I did see two people paying a shop owner to look after purchasers so they didn't have to carry them around but I probably wouldn't do this unless you're okay with some of your purchasers going missing.
Great market! Lots of bargains! Will be back!

“Cheapest goods around!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2013

Went there on a sunday by the BTS. It's really MASSIVE with hundred and thousands of stalls. I am not kidding. It's really a good experience going there to shop and eat. Their clothes are all below 200 bahts. Emptied our wallets just by a mere 2 streets. LOL.
1 thing u got to try is their coconut ice cream! Yummy! :)

“Meh: a lot of vendors with not a lot to offer”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2013 via mobile

Everyone told us this was a must-do ... And it is a sight to see because of its size, but the market was just ok for us. It was much of the same exact items, stall after stall after stall. I think I expected more variety for the size and scope of the place. The coconut ice cream was worth the trip. :)
