“Huge Apartment”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2014

Me and my girlfriend decided to spend a little more cash and try out this place in Bangkok. Having been to Bangkok many times it was a little away from the usual area we stay in but it was a very pleasant area of Bangkok. The apartment had a great view from the balcony of the skyline and it was very clean and well presented. The aircon in the bedroom was dripping and created quite a puddle, it looked like it wasnt a new problem but it wasnt a bother. The bathroom was great and the overall apartment was a very high standard and large, but for this price in Bangkok it would be expected to be to a high standard. The kitchen was great and looked brand new, with huge fridge and oven, cooker. It is more like a home than a hotel room and Im sure they have many long term residents. The rooftop pool is nice although the weather was not great so I didnt personally use it but I did have a look around. I used taxis which the hotel can arrange or out on the road can easily be hailed so I can not comment on walking distance to anything. I did find that alot of Taxis had a hard time finding it. The staff were friendly and very profesional. I enjoyed my stay here and would return if my budget allowed.

Had a great 16 day stay here. I looked all over Sukhumvit for other choices of serviced longer term residence and I still think this is the best. Smith who runs the show is very personable and hands on for any issues. I look forward to staying again in a few weeks.

It was a company trip and we got the rooms for 50% off on an Agoda sale. We got the 2 bedroom apartment with kitchen + washing machine for 3 nights. The apartment was extremely spacious and the kitchen was fully equipped. The rooms are cosy but the bed was hard but it was a small matter. There is a balcony for smokers for each apartment.
I was concerned about the previous comments on not having english speaking staff, but when we arrive in Jan 2014, they had hired 2 very fluent english speakers and there was no problem in communicating to them about our airport pickup for our departure flight. The swimming pool area is pretty small but really quiet at night for chilling out. there's also a barbecue pit which u can book - get ur sausages and bbqing stuff from the 7-11.
Majority of the tenants are Japanese and there is a very good Udon restaurant 20 steps from the front desk. The breakfast included in the price was delicious for RM35, with a selection of eggs, pastry, bacon, juicy sausages, yoghurt etc. They also have asian selections like Vietnamese and japanese noodles.
There's a 7-11 right outside the hotel too. we got our booze from there, but remember to buy it before 12am as they have a policy as to not sell booze after 12am. 7-11's in bangkok have yummy snack food as well ie pork kuey tiao, rice, etc. etc.
The only setback that i can think of is that when u do venture out on a taxi, u must take into consideration about the traffic jams. but u can always use the shuttle bus to get to the nearest BTS. all in all, a great stay.

Room Tip: Higher floors have a great view!

Pros:Great price, extra large self catering apartments as opposed to cramped hotel room, great pool and gym facility, away from hustle and bustle main road and BTS but close enough to walk( 10-15 min), amazing ramen place downstairs, friendly staff

Cons:
Hard bed, not as clean as it could be (dust and dirt under the couch, soap scum in the bathroom)

I would choose it again for the great price, booked on agoda for 70usd

The apartment and grounds are fairly modern. The apartment was comfortable and great for the price. The bathroom looked a bit dated to be a new building. The photos and reviews made me have extremely high expectations. I have not seen other accommodations in Thailand so this can be of high standard compared to surrounding places.

The free wifi, laundry in-room and rooftop pool were really nice touches and I'm thankful they existed. The building also offers a breakfast option at the on-site restaurant (All Six to Twelve), which was really good. It reminded me of a open space you'd find in NYC, London or Tokyo.

Unfortunately, the downfall of this building is the lack of English speaking staff. There was a nightmare that occured on my final night. We checked out and asked the front desk to call a taxi to take me to Subvarnabh Airport. At first, the engilsh speaking owner said we probably should be going to the domestic airport (Don Meng). However, we corrected him by reading our flight booking which said Suvarnabh (BKK). We thought the clarification was clear. We also reminded the security officer who helped us with our bags that we want to go to BKK. After a 1 hour ride, we ended up at Don Meng (the incorrect airport). We had to rush to Suvarnabh, which left us 15 mins until our flight took off. We had to rebook for a later flight and incur a fee of $150 US. It was a disaster and really left a bad taste in our mouths.

In addition, we found communication to be a big issue with the shuttle drivers, housekeeping when making requests. I understand in Thailand you'll have language barriers. I would consider staying at a hotel that has more english speaking staff especially since this building is off a beaten path.

The rooms were very clean and some what modern. Our unit had a balcony with a decent view of the city. There is a wonderful pool and view on the rooftop. There is a large fitness center with basketball court as well. As each day went by, the American satellite TV channels seemed to disappear one by one.

The location is close to the BTS SkyTrain using the hotel's shuttle service. Although, it's a 15 mins walk from BTS to the hotel through small streets and many cars and motorcycles. A cab is an option but you will need the hotel's card to show the driver as most drivers do not know how to get there with verbal directions.

One development area I would suggest to management is for more staff who speak English a little bit better. There were several instances where we asked for wash clothes/towel rags and were given soap, shampoo and large towels. This was very frustrating as we had to make the request several times. We finally realized there must have been a shortage of wash clothes as we were only given one each time the room was cleaned even though we had two people in the room.

The real issue came when we were departing and we asked for a taxi to the BKK airport for our domestic flight within Bangkok. Specifying BKK as we knew there were several airports in Thailand. The staff at the front desk seemed to have an internal dispute as to which airport we were going to and seemingly decided on their own to tell the taxi driver to take us to the wrong airport. Making matters worse, we got into a cab with a driver who did not know how to get to the airport, much less didn't respond to our countless requests to read our booking info that said BKK SUVARNABH. Of course, we got to the wrong airport and had to take another cab to the correct airport and missed our flight.

As a suggestion to all coming to Thailand, please be very stern and directive with your requests especially with random people who walk up to you or spark up a convo on the street. Though this seems like a not so friendly way to conduct on holiday, it beats being stuck missing your flight and impacting the remainder of your trip tremandeously.
