“Terrible shower and early teething problems”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013 via mobile

Poor pressure in shower, hardly wakes u up. The first night our air con kept switching on and off and got very hot, also somehow the lights in the room gave us a fright at 6 am by suddenly switching on. Had to call reception to ask what was going on! Couldn't sleep after that. Good breakfast and only 5 min walk to bts, easy to move around the city. New property so no cab driver is familiar with area. Suites and spa not open. One good thing- staff were great, we had issues with initial reservation on agoda, and front office staff sorted it out very well.

sadly we only had a few nights here as it was really great apartment. The apartments themselves were attached to the hotel and so you got all the facilities of the hotel, which is sometimes lacking in serviced apartments.

All the staff were absolutely delightful, and the restaurant was great.

The evening buffet is great as it all kinds of fresh raw food that you hand to the chef to cook as and when and how you like it.

The only downside was that the spa and kids club weren't open yet, and this the only reason it is 4/5 and not 5/5.

We stayed in the apartments for over five weeks. We were one of the first guests to stay in the apartments as the hotel just opened when we moved there. There were usual little inconveniences of a newly opened hotel, but the staff was always courteous, friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good, and we especially enjoyed their fresh fruits juice made in front of you.
The gym was adequate, but it lacked the space for stretching. Food was great at restaurants and the rooftop bar on the 45th~48th floor offered a fantastic view of the city. The location is convenient near the Thonglor sky train station (only a few minutes walk.) We truly enjoyed our stay thanks to the friendly staff.

We booked this hotel not realising that it was brand new, not that that is a problem but unfortunately all the amenities and services that they advertised were not actually available like the kids room, which was not even finished, nevermind supervised! And the spa which we thought was on site was actually a cab ride away.
The positives were that the staff were very nice, smiley and helpful. The buffet restaurant 57 street or something was very good, both for breakfast and evening dinner. To call it a buffet is a bit of a misnomer as you can pick the ingredients that you would like to eat, e.g. king prawns, oysters, fish etc and then they will cook you the dish to order.
The pool is very nice and the roof top bar, Octave is nice but the top level bar which had a blue circular bar in the middle was again not finished or open and when we went up to see it and the views we were followed by a guy on a walkie talkie which didn't make us feel very welcome as he followed us around and made it clear that we were not supposed to be up there yet no one told us that we couldn't go up despite us asking one of the hostesses if it was ok to go up.
The two bed apartment is spacious, well done out but the only slight criticism is that the dining area is way too big in our opinion and the space could have been better utilised by making the living room area bigger and making the dining area smaller.
So overall, its a nice hotel, close to the skytrain, 2 min walk away but it will be amazing when its finished.

reasonably good -stayed only one night-location is difficult due to traffic congestion.apartment stay preferable.
breakfast spread is basic and selection a bit substandard compared to the various other marriott properties i stayed in.
the executive apartments adjoin the hotel but provides greater privacy.

Stayed for 9 days at the Marriott Bangkok, Its a brand new hotel and the service is Great. It is most conveniently located next to Thong Lo Sky Train station , hence never got stuck in Traffic which Bangkok is famous for. The have a Rooftop Bar called Octave which is at the 45th Floor and another one at the 49th Floor, My daughter who is 11 years enjoyed the max as she was allowed to visit the Rooftop bar. The food is excellent and you can tell the chef to make it according to your taste. A Big gym with a Swimming pool which again gives the view of the city. Overall a super vacation thanks to the team of Marriott Bangkok.

Room Tip: The hotel rooms start from the 22nd Floor, so all rooms have a great view of the city.

Wow!! What a fantastic new hotel / exec apartment to stay in while in Bangkok. I've been visiting Thailand for business and family vacations for over 7 years now so I am fairly well familiar with the country and culture that I love. Bangkok being one of my favorite cities in South Asia, I visited again on the 16th of May for a quick business trip.

This is probably my 9 visit to Bangkok and I have previously lived in all kinds of set ups, from friends houses, to budget guest houses, to the St. Regis and this, time based on some good reviews, I decided to check out the very new Mariott Executive Appts in Sukhumvit.

What a treat it turned out to be! This is by far, the BEST experience I have had in over 9 years of visiting Bangkok!! First of all what struck me is the attention to detail that has gone into building this property. The interior decor is stunning to say the least and it is equally well complemented by the warm, friendly and extremely helpful staff. From the minute i entered the building I was made to feel so comfortable I actually felt like I was returning home. Right in the heart of the city the location couldn't be any better as I found myself well connected to the high streets, the BTS train networks and public transport was easily available.

Besides the excellent hospitality of the staff, the rooms themselves are probably among the best designed and sophisticated in all of Bangkok. The amenities within the room were so carefully and thoughfully laid out it just brought a huge smile to my face the minute i walked in. (This is how I'd like my house to be!!).

There is beautiful pool overlooking the dynamic and bustling city skyline. The spa facilities were divine. Well trained and perfect ambience to soothe oneself and calm down after a long day of intense meetings and biz stuff.

As far the culinary delights I was literally spoiled for choice. The ground floor restaurants are AMAZING but I highly, highly recommend a night and meal up at 'Octave' on the 45 floor. There is simply & absolutely no other high rise restaurant like it in all of South Asia. Period. You should visit this incredible restaurant even if you aren't staying in the Hotel, the experience itself it's worth the entire trip alone!

....in fact, it was so good that, after dinner I called the concierge and extended by stay by another night!

Thanks to creators/designers/makers of this fabulous breath of fresh air in Bangkok. What a great gift to this great city. Can't wait to come back! :)

ps : oh-my-lord ....can somebody find out what beds they use here?! I was on the 19th floor, and along with the incredible view of city, I think i had probably the best sleep of my life here!!!

Room Tip: There is no bad room here coz the building is designed so intelligently, however I think the rooms u...
