“Great Find, deserves success!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2013

Wonderful food and service. Great decoration too. Everything we ordered was first-rate and it is kind of good that portions are small as we could try pretty much everything. We will go back again next time we are in BKK!

“Interesting alternative in the CBD area”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2013

Kudos to Mandopop for trying something new, particularly in the dull, monotonous world of Chinese restaurants in Bangkok. Food was good, but nothing fabulous. Decor and ambience was a nice break from cheesy traditional Chinese restaurants. Service was helpful and friendly. The long happy hour(s) is more than welcome!

However, one gripe - common amongst restaurants trying to be posh - is the lack of local drinking water. In this day and age of environmentally conscious consumers, we don't want to drink water that has been shipped from France, least of all in a Chinese restaurant (and charged 285bt++ for that honour). Five star hotels manage to give you local water options, why can't little restaurants? It's not cool, just pretentious (and an underhand way to make margin), and enough to make you not return.

“Funky take on Chinese Cuisine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2013

We really enjoyed our visit to Mandopop. The space is really impressive with a stunning finish. The food and service were equally impressive. The physical menu was really original and presented a modern twist on traditional Chinese cuisine. The beef was seriously impressive while the creamy avocado ice-cream is a must!

“Modern & Stylish”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

I've visited Mandopop a few times since the opening what i like the most here is Mandopop is not a typical Chinese restaurant- it is casual, stylish, modern with cozy airy high ceiling ambience. Dont expect the typical dishes as the Chef has prepared a better version of quality and taste in every single menu selection that he created. Some have commented about the small portion but our group just love it as we get to try other dishes in the menu and the portion was just right for us!! Our favorite dishes are Foie Gras puree soup wt scallop wonton, the best pan-seared foie gras which a bit caramelized outer and topping wt super crispy duck skin!! One healthy dish that we like is the clear soup with scallop noodle (pure scallop meat and egg yolk), the broth is very aroma, Tenderloin beef in black pepper, Fried fresh Tofu (chef made it on a daily basis). What not to miss is thier talk-of- the-town crispy belly pork- one bite wont be enough!! So in all -Mandopop is a new place that you can hangout for drinks, chill chill with DJ music while having a good time with delicious fusion/modern Cantonese food style. Something new and not boring. As for a local -try to take benefit of their buy one get one happy hours promotion. We highly recommend this place!!

“A great hospitality addition to Bangkok”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2013

I have followed Mandopop with interest for some time. Last Friday I had one of the most enjoyable Chinese dinner experiences. The food was of the highest standard and I mean on international scale. Outstanding presentation, served in intervals that allowed us to enjoy each individual dish at a very pleasant pace. The service was charming and backed up with great product knowledge, something not found in Bangkok on a regular basis! The atmosphere was supported by a DJ providing great sound, eeven though we did perhaps not represent the perfect age demographic, our feet were tapping to the beat at the end of the evening! Well done, congrats to the Mandopop team!
