A nice & new apartment. No bellboy. No proper Reception counter. Just an office full of shelves and papers. But the room where you walked in is very nice & modern. The sleepy late night staff slid the window to register us with no smile although polite. When done, she slid the windows and went back to declining sleep. I used the room key to open inner glass door and went up to our room by elevator. The check out staff who was an elderly lady smiled and was nice.
This place is new and look very refreshing, in contrast with the tired Don Muang Airport Hotel which costs more. Room is new but there were long hairs on the floor. The floor showed it was moped by wet cloth but hairs were not removed. I thought those were mine but I saw more hairs in 2 other corners where I did not enter.
Room and bathroom have new decoration style so they look very pleasant and comfortable. Just that after the shower, I had to take photos of shampoo/soap marks on valves. By the look of these thick layers, I'll say the maid did not clean properly for at least 20 times of guest use. If you notice in clean hotels, after one shower, there's no way you can see such obvious marks and the valves are still shining clean. Bathroom floor tiles had marks of months not being brushed, just being wiped by cloth.
The bed sheet looked like it was not been changed. The blanket looked better. My husband felt itchy when sleeping but I did not.
Not generous with wifi: only 2 hours for free. What's weirder is they have a round box of cotton bud having about 30 pcs with a note for you to use, not to take as souvenir or they'll charge 100 Baht. I didn't use at all. I don't think the cotton buds are clean after so many people opening the box. They provide shampoo & shower, 1 bottle each, nice bottles but not enough for 2 persons. No toothbrush & toothpaste. I always bring my own. 2 free water bottles is a nice touch. I arrived around 3am and didn't have to go out to buy. Non-smoking. They have a sticker at reception to fine violators 2,000 Baht. The sticker also says to charge 300 Baht for checking in before 2pm. Most hotels are flexible on this.
Nice floor to ceiling glass windows. Nice balcony where I saw a nice garden and clothes people hung on the other block.
The walk in closet has a hairdryer on the shelve. The closet door bent at corner so I pushed one inside to open. Aircon works well.
I seldom say too bad about a place knowing I get what I pay for. I often stay in cheap hotels so I don't expect too much. But Delight Residence makes me think of a "khaem" (stingy) guesthouse trying to stop me from taking advantage of them. My husband is very upset and will never return. I'm not upset but I'll stay elsewhere next time.
