Last week my husband surprised me with a very unexpected treat by taking me out to Bonjour French restaurant. As we entered the property coming from the busy Sukhumvit road I already felt like I was transported to another universe in the beautiful French style garden and the terrace with can you believe it has real live swans, here in Bangkok! We first enjoyed an aperitif of sparkling wine that was kindly offered to us while watching the swans gracefully moving and nibbling on some mouth watering appetizers they wittily call “Amuse-bouche”, which I do admit did tease all my gustatory senses.
As we went inside when our main course was served I was pleasantly surprised by the elegant and plush furniture that brought back memories of my last trip to the South of France. We decided to share a few courses and started with the lobster bisque that a friend had told my husband he must absolutely try out being one the Chef’s top dishes- we both relished the plentiful lobster pieces and delicious broth- it was indeed succulent!
My husband being a true meat lover went for the tournedos Rossini which was really tender and I must say I really enjoyed the delicacy of the snow fish with a surprising Raspberry emulsion, it totally hit the spot being light, tasty and innovative.
At the end of our very enjoyable meal we were then treated a romantic desert for 2, which my husband explained to me was complimentary and for couples only if they booked in advance! I must say we both had a great time and certainly will be back soon, next time it will be my turn to surprise him…
