“Fabulous place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2014

A beautiful building, with a very large gold Buddha. The entry fee is very small, be forewarned that the Buddha is located at the top of the temple up a couple of flights of stairs. Worth the effort though. Amazing craftmanship in the temple and decorations. Visited this temple on a day tour. Was beautiful and well worth a visit when in Bangkok. Be prepare though it gets very busy during peak time. The histiory behind this Buddha is amazing. It was once covered in plaster and discovered by the swedish people. On a flood event, the plaster came off in some parts revealing the gold behind the mask! It is beautiful and big.

“Solid Gold”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2014

Close to the Chinatown Gateway, this temple is certainly worth seeing. You have options of seeing the Golden Buddha, the relocation of the Buddha and discovery of it being made of gold exhibition and another about the Chinese in Bangkok. The entry fee is modest so you may as well see them all. The temple is an active temple, leave your shoes on the racks and people are there praying - so be thoughtful about taking photos and respect privacy.

The entry token is a small plastic affair that has a photo of the Buddha and makes a nice souvenir.

“Good for a quick stop.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2014 via mobile

Hau Lamphong MRT Metro Station stop on blue line.
Exit station, cross street & bridge, follow white signs marked Wat Traimat.
Temple is across the street from Chinatown's big entrance.
No shoes at Buddha entrance.
T-shirt/long pants good.
40 baht for 4th floor entrance only (Golden Buddha).
Ticket booth on side of temple, just past large steps in front. Can't miss.
