“Worth checking out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2013

When I went there the place was jam packed. Going inside the gates was approached by a tour guide offering to take me around. Normally I steer clear of this sort of setup smelling a scam but no it was all good, can't remember how much I paid but was very cheap. Ended up coupling up with another group and we are shared the cost.

The benefit: besides the obvious being shown around and explained what everything is was that we were able to get in straight away without queuing for tickets as the line was long.

This place is a must see on your visit to Bangkok. Awesome buildings if you only go to one temple in Thailand, go to this one and recommend getting a guide

“Beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2013

The interior is stunning! As well as being impressed by the Emerald Buddha I was entranced by the beautiful interior decoration of the room. It was very busy but thats understandable, I would recommend this to anyone on a trip to Bangkok.

“A most revered Buddha”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2013

The temple houses Thailand's most revered Buddha. Wat Phra Kaew is a wonder of gleaming gilded stupas, mosaic encrusted pillars and rich marble. You need at least one and a half hours to tour the complex.

“Lovely Little Buddha”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2013

Go EARLY!!! This attraction is packed with tour groups and individual travelers lining up to see the Emerald Buddha (which is made of jade) Right now he is dressed for the Rainy Season, but next week he will be changed into his Winter outfit. The Buddha himself is quite small, but still very impressive and well worth going to see...IF you go early.
