My first visit to a Thai temple and what an experience. This one has lift acces if you cant negotiate the stairs not the Golden Buddha temple in another review..sorry my mistake. This is a very large temple and once again included in a half day tour is a must to see when visiting Bangkok. At all temples you need to be prepared to take off your shoes before entering. Try and avoid lace up shoes like I did as you get plenty of practice doing up your laces each time. Also men must wear long pants and at least a short sleave shirt...t-shirts and singlets and bare skin are not permitted entry...so if you have tatts cover them up...you can hire long pants and shirts at these locations...you can always tell the ones who dont read the tourist literature or take the advice from the tour company.
Also at this temple was this young guy taking photos of people stopping to have a photo taken. I found out why when I returned back down the stairs as he presents you on a tray with your photo on a badge/fridge magnet with Bangkok and the year...how could I resist 200 baht for 2 then he offers you another 2 for 100 baht...well I thought gifts for the staff to remember their boss. so I ended up with 4...great fun and great momento of your visit. so clever to make in about 20 minutes.
