“Beautiful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2014

Really beautiful and interesting. Interesting to walk around in the gardens and the river with romantic bridges made it quite special. Worth a visit.

“Photogenic Temple and Lovely Grounds”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2013

At its most beautiful at dawn and sunset, when there are fewer visitors and light is beautiful. Also explore the interesting grounds.

“The Modern Buddha”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2013

If you are an Indian you wonder how this marble building is a temple, but then the Indian should not find it difficult to accept it as his own country is home to thousands of different temples. The temple has a relatively short history, having been constructed only in early 1900. For any one interested in Buddhism, this temple is unique for its architecture being influenced by Europe notably the stained glass windows and marble from Italy. Indians would be reminded of their own Ajanta caves where Buddhist religious art was discovered to be flourishing more than 2000 years ago. Phra Buddhajinaraja is the name of the Buddha and the metal idol is cast beautifully with halo like blue lighting giving an ethereal feel. Indians (no not again) would find the elaborate accoutrements beneath the idol very different from their own idols found in Indian temples.

“MASSIVE”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2013

This place is massive!!!! WHOLEY HELL!!!! you could literally be in here for hours!!! Very fascinating. You get to see guards and when we arrived the royal family arrived so we got a bit of surprise. Amazingly intricate!!! Loved this place. Only problem is that all the stores to buy water usually run out by about mid day and you can only buy water right at the end, being a kiwi it was defiantly too hot to go without water, hence the "Very Good" rating and not the Excellent rating. Ice cream at the end was a nice touch though

O and a bit of advise, be very careful of pick pockets as there were a few people when we were there that had their phones and cameras stolen.
