“Excellent Choice on Silom Road”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2013

I have stayed at the Narai Hotel many times while in Bangkok and keep returning as the position mid-road between the river and Lumpini Park is perfect for exploration of the area. Hotel has modern stylish rooms and a first class breakfast. My only gripe this time was a computer power point that did not allow connection with any plugs.

I do wish that hotels in tropical areas would also provide a top sheet as well as the ubiquitous European style duvet (doona) as I find it too hot to sleep with the duvet on.

Overall, we had a great stay last October. Hotel has nice location, nice food, and we had nice sleep for 3 nights.

Improvement on toilet facilities will be highly appreciated as some looks old already, but nevertheless, very clean. Addition of hair conditioner and toothpaste will be appreciated as well. Elevators are quite small, but tolerable.

Wifi connection is good, room facilities are good.
Location is perfect, thee are nearby stores/shops/money changes/ tour agency etc.

Room Tip: Rooms far from elevator are quieter.

We stayed 2 nights at Narai, and found it to be clean, spacious and comfortable. Staff were most friendly and helpful, with good English speaking skills. Restaurants provided a good selection of foods, very reasonably priced. Hotel location is right in the middle of it all, with many tuk tuks and taxis right at the door. Barter for travelling price, as it varies greatly. We chose to eat at the hotel, as the street vendors goods were suspicious, to say the least. We didn't like Bangkok itself, but the hotel was wonderful.

Well located within easy walking distance to night markets, skyway etc. Busy hotel with good breakfast and lunch buffet. Adequate room and air con works well and not overpriced. It was just a two night stopover on our way to Phuket. This was my first trip to Bangkok and probably my last.

Room Tip: We chose a deluxe room. Well worth the few extra dollars.

I've stayed at this hotel several times previously, because it is well-placed in the centre of Bangkok and offers quality accommodations at a reasonable price. All rooms are well appointed and are away from the road, so there is no traffic noise.

The buffet breakfasts are fabulous, with a huge spread including real bacon. The outdoor pool is really nice too. Public transport isn't too bad either, with a bus stop right outside and a 10-minute walk to the nearest BTS station (Chong Nonsi). Then there are always a multitude of taxis and tuk-tuks hovering outside the main entrance.

I can thoroughly recommend this hotel and my wife and I will always stay there on our trips to Bangkok.

We stayed at this hotel previously and found it to be close to the Pat Pong markets, only a short walk away to most big stores as well. Rooms were a good size and convenient pick-up area for the tour buses. The hotel itself has some good shops underneath it - jeweller and thai silk sales
We have stayed here twice and it was a number of years apart, so we are able to say that the hotel hadn't changed that much and the standards were still good. They also had a great selection for their breakfast buffet. Room service and the dining room also had great selections - what we did notice that between the first visit and the last all the empty blocks of land between the hotel and the markets now had new hotels and not too many of the usual beggars around. Best to get to the markets early in the evening as the later it gets the seedier it becomes around the bar areas. And of course barter for you purchase don't pay the first price
