My spouse has been staying at Bangkok for a few months now (on and off) for work projects. The organization where he works booked Miracle Grand as it is near to their warehouse.

Everything was fine initially; service was good if not extraordinary. Food was okay although it was always the same every day. The location is somehow convenient to reach the working place.

On the night of 6th March, someone came to my spouse room while he was asleep. His laptop, wallet and passport gone! He said that he heard a click (sound of door closing) but thought of nothing and continued sleeping. He realized that his belongings were gone when he was ready to go to work.

To say that this hotel is a 4-star hotel is a shame! They did not have a good security measurement! I was surprised that there was no camera installation at the hotel at all! Imagine if someone got murdered and they could not detect anything!!! The management did interview the employees but did not check their lockers/belongings.

My spouse went to Bangkok Police Station to make a report and when mentioned about 'Miracle Grand', the police officer said, “Oh! You are not the first one!”

My aim here is to keep you all aware of what happening here at Miracle Grand. It will be a hassle if you lost your personal belongings. My spouse has to make a police report, went to German Embassy to make a temporary passport, went to Thailand Embassy to get his passport stamped, hold his important project and came back to Singapore to settle other things like re-issuing of new identification card and credit cards. Not to mention, his money was also stolen.

I believe it is an insider work. We do not have proof, but at the wee hours (5am to 6am), the security/ front desk should have seen if there was any suspicious person loitering around the hotel!

Double latch your hotel doors wherever you stay and be extra careful when you are staying at Miracle Grand!!!

Stayed here with family for 2 nights. I usually stay at the Sheraton Grand Sukhumvit or the Westin in Bangkok but was trying to save money this weekend. Our travel agent picked this hotel as we needed to be near Nichada Thani area and overall it was a good choice.

Quick, friendly, efficient, and helpful.
Room
Not huge, but large enough for the whole family and lots of luggage. large bathroom. Clean. Not very many tv channels. Internet service worked, lighting was good, minimal noise although we did get some noise from the commuter train that runs across the street from the hotel. Room cleaning was OK (more on that later under service) and laundry was prompt and well done.

Gym
Small and with mostly cheap, older equipment. 3 treadmills, one no-name elliptical, and 2-3 bikes and some other contraptions that basically take up space but are not useful. Some weight machines and some dumbells so the weight side is OK, but the cardio is not much good.

Pool
Not huge, but clean and inviting.

Food
Breakfast in coffee shop was a buffet with an average selection but lots of fresh fruit and an omelette station. good enough.
Dinner in coffee shop once was the buffet, which had some odd selections but had a seafood "hot pot" or "mongolian bbq" which was unique and well done. Chefs didn't speak English but there was some staff there who did and would readily translate requirements. Some of the European tourists with poor english were struggling.
Dinner in coffee shop from the menu was interesting. We ordered 3 items that were either not on the menu or were heavily customized and all were handled well with no questions or problems which was quite impressive. We saw why they do the buffet, though as service was incredibly slow.

Service
Spotty. Room cleaning service took all of the papers I had on the desk including my temporary driver's phone number (had to find a new driver, no way to contact the old one) and the pre-paid internet card I had paid for the previous day. Hotel tried to issue new internet userid and password, but they didn't work. Staff was generally helpful and attentive, but the slow restaurant and the things missing from the room after cleaning lower this rating.

Bottom line, you could do worse... much worse... I think you could actually trust this place for a decent low priced weekend or cheap business hotel.

OH, and about the previous review... it wasn't that bad. You can read my other reviews and see that I'm a tough critic, and I see how one could be disappointed with the Miracle Grand if you're used to Asia 5 star luxury, but this place isn't that bad!

ROOMS
Rooms are of decent size but are extremely old and in desperate need of refurbishment. The carpet is worn, there is no wardrobe, furnishings and television appear to be from the 80s.
Lamp switches are completely discoloured and extremely unsightly - the black paint has been peeled off unevenly, revealing the beige undercoat (refer to photo).
There were several black stains on the bathroom door.
The bathtub and shower are leaking causing the unwary traveler to step on a soaking mat after coming out of the shower/bath.
Rooms are badly soundproofed, we could hear the adjacent occupants' water running, and the opposite room's phone ringing.
Light from the corridor seeps through the side and bottom of the room door, making it difficult to sleep.

AMENITIES
Does not provide slippers or bathrobes; when asked for slippers we received apparently used slippers which had toothpaste stains on them.
The writing pad had been used, as had the pencil, evident by a ring of lead markings on the rubber on top of the pencil. Yellowed water marks were on the cardboard toothbrush box.

LOCATION
Very poor location - 1hr drive from Bangkok International Airport, half hr drive to the city, or 1hr by public transport. This hotel is located near Bangkok's old airport which is no longer in use for international flights.

SERVICE
Service and the hotel size, facilities and lobby are commendable. Staff was polite and helpful. Lobby is grand, and the hotel provides all facilities, from swimming pool and fitness centre to a convenience store.

The grand exteriors and lobby are deceptive to the true quality of this hotel. This hotel is not recommended for anyone looking for a quality hotel - this hotel merely degrades travelers' opinions of the excellence of Bangkok's hotels. Much better hotels may be sought elsewhere.

My Wife and I stayed here for 1 night before a very early flight from BKK. This was by far the nicest hotel we stayed in while in Thailand. Perfect if you need to stay by the airport. The staff were very friendly and a free shuttle to the airport, at 430am, topped it off.

It's not right at the airport but the shuttle from the hotel is quite quick. Also, I've heard the actual "on-site" hotel at BKK is VERY over priced. So, for the price you would pay here, this is the place to stay!!

The room we had was beautiful, very clean and there was even a TV above the tub!! A great place to stay before our holiday ended.
