“Depressing hotel just short of being disgusting”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012

Unless your only priority is to be close to Soi cowboy (which ours definitely was NOT), there is no reason to stay in this hotel. Everything is old- most notably the carpets in all the hallways and rooms. The walls painted a bright pink is an offense to the senses. The breakfast is bare and not at all tasty (and you have to choose beforehand to pay extra for it). The only thing somewhat renovated is the hotel lobby. Don't be fooled. The rest of the hotel hasn't been touched in 30 years. Very very disappointing stay, particularly in Bangkok where the cost of what we paid for this hotel could have gotten us much much better.

There's hundred and hundred hotel options in Bangkok.I stayed in Marvel Hotel for five nights and I found it absolutely descent. Rooms are clean and renovated (I have no idea how old is the hotel itself, but it changed its name few times over last years), staff is friendly and helpful, breakfast is a Thai-international-Indian style buffet, and some of the dishes are changed every other day. There's neat Italian restaurant, bar with live music in the evening, massage parlor, swimming pool and fitness. Location is very convenient - it's juts about 10 min walk from skytrain and Emporium Shopping Mall. There's many massage places in the area, some good restaurants and Soy Cowboy is also walking distance. What I really like about Marvel -they have electronic panels in every room to control lightning, air condition and some other functions. I can recommend this hotel as a good place to stay in Bangkok.

Quite clean, location a bit off of the main road, metro station about 1km away, average breakfast.

Watch out for the map-in-the-room scam, they will claim it was sealed regardless and the "manager" on duty Ms Kung will charge you 200B anyway!

The service from the bellman to the room attendant are all beyond expectation. Rooms are comfortable & clean. Buffet breakfast was good. Room rates reasonable. Strategic location and within walking distant to Sky Train and this gets you practically everywhere beating the famous Bangkok. Will definitely stay if in Bangkok again.

It turned out to be a good hotel, beyong our expectations. We had expected it to be a budget hotel but it had all what you want. Clean rooms, good bed, Good view from the hotel. The breakfast was average but good enough to charge you up for the full day long shopping spree :)
The location was apt too, very near to the local metro train station 'Phrom Phrong'. Overall it was worth the money we spent.

Cons: The swimming pool was under construction

This hotel is renamed as Marvel Hotel ( I think, change of ownership / management). I stayed in this hotel only for a day. Good Location, Value for Money. Good Rooms, Great Breakfast Spread. Complimentary wifi only in the lobby. They allowed me late checkout (4.00 PM) without any extra charge. Very Helpful staff. Smooth Check in - Check out.

Date : November 2011
Me and My friends were visited Thailand through travel portal Make my trip.
As there was flood in Bangkok, They gave us this hotel.
We never expected a travel portal can give such a good hotel.
Best thing about Hotel is that is that Shopping places are near to it.
From the first sight, it looked very clean and nice.
We were placed on 11th floor and view from room was superb.
Beds were so good and clean.
Breakfast was good and so many varieties were there.
Overall Wonderful Stay !!
