We stayed in theis hotel for 2 nights after a fantastic 2 weeks in Samui. We arrived late at night to the hotel and at check in we stumbled across a problem that they required a credit card for deposit, on our travels we decided to use only Visa Debit cards are they are accepted worldwide and can be used in all ATMs, this was not sufficent for ther Rembrandt - While i understand this it should be clearly stated as the visa debit card had been good enough for hotels in Samui.
The room was big, modern and clean and on the 8th floor. it couldnt be faulted to be honest, nice big bed, flat screen tv, mini bar, clean marble bathroom and a nice view out to bangkok and the below swimming pool.
A safe was supplied in the wardrobe and the room had a touch pad which controlled the lights and the air-con.
The breakfast was good, with a range to suit everybody. A cook was on hand to make omlettes with whatever you wanted in them, fresh tea or coffee on arrival, fresh breads and fruit, it was situated in a large hall and there was lots of space to sit and eat, unrushed.
The pool area was nice, clean and tidy with free towels offered by the hotel, food and drink available, altho we didnt eat from the pool side bar it looked nice and was popular.
It is a good hotel but i thought it was let down by the staff, on a number of occasions we could have done with a hand, with luggage, directions/maps and the staff didnt seem too interested, on one occasion there was a group of 6/8 at the table inside the door laughing at something on a phone when guests could have done with help, The "courtesy" Tuk Tuk was never available and not offered, we could have done with it a few times as there was heavy rain and made backing and forward to the sky train or nearby shops a bit of a task.
After 2 weeks at a nice beach holiday in the south i dont think this hotel is for you, you would have a suitcase full of beachwear and this hotel is not the place to wear it (other Hotels in the city would be better suited) Refusal to the Indian restaurant on the top floor wearing a t-shirt and dress shorts ment a trip to the mexican restaurant, which was 10 out of 10!!
We had free wi-fi in the room and there were 3 computers in lobby which were free to use, altho one was broke and at various points during our stay there was a queue, printing facilities for boarding cards etc..
Verdict- I dont know how much we payed to stay in this hotel as our holiday was a package but i would be alarmed if it was a lot, its a nice hotel but the cracks on the fittings in the hall match the staff at the desk.
