Excellent, clean, great staff, very respectful, highly recommend for a comfortable stay, near BTS station, easy airport access, nice room very large, flat screen TV's, good bathroom, don't need to take any taxis with the BTS so close, Siam is about easy to access 2 stops over

Dear CaliRite,

A sincere thanks for writing such a glowing review of us.

It’s great to know you made the most of our fabulous locations beside the Phaya Thai Skytrain BTS (and Airport Rail Link) station. It certainly makes for the easiest, economical and convenient way to get around the City of Angels.

We hope to have you back visiting with us again soon.

Kind regards,

Booked at the last minute as a 50% less expensive alternative to some Siam square based alternatives and so far have had nothing negative to say. Large, recently refurbished room, 5 mins for the railway stop and friendly staff. Have yet to sample the food.

The bed feels more like a tatami but I don't mind...

Room Tip: Lot of traffic around some do ask for higher floor rooms

4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012

I originally booked this hotel as I was getting in at peak hour and wanted to get the airport rail. Being lazy, I couldn't be bothered and just ended up getting a taxi in the end.

The hotel is quite easy for drivers to find, try referring to it as Siam City should they be confused. Location is great, minutes from BTS (across some major roads, staffed crossing directors during day but be careful as night) and a few doors down from a 7-11 and street vendors at night.

Check in was unfortunately very slow, I was kept waiting close to 15 minutes as an airline crew were checking in. They seemed to be having problems the the check in as it took multiple staff to understand the paperwork at time, I understand that they need checking in but they need to be more attentive to solo travellers/travellers that actually have the ability to walk with their wallets - not a group of staff that have no say what so ever in whether or not they return to a hotel. At a minimum they could have acknowledged my presence verbally or called over a manager/additional staff or offered me a seat and a cold drink.

Room itself was nice, typical hard bed though. Bathroom was weird, when showering water travels along the long line of the bath, across the bath and down out onto the tiles. I couldn't quite figure out how/why. Room doesn't have an iron in it, I had to request one which is annoying. The iron burnt my (rather expensive) blouse when on the coldest setting. The iron is a heavy iron with no steam function, very old. I was going to complain but figured I'd just dye it black when home rather than get upset/angry when they offered me a measly 5 X whatever their washing fee is for a blouse.

Gym closed at 10pm but people were loitering and swimming in pool after then?

Room service wasn't great, Nicoise salad missing a few ingredients and food was a little bland.

All in all perfectly find for the rate that I paid.

Dear ladyfitch,

Thank for your taking the time to review our hotel.

We are very sorry to hear about your slow check-in experience. We shall definitely investigate the situation and improve our practices as soon as possible. Thank for you altering us to our shortfall.

We shall also look into getting new irons as we are aghast that our current one should reunion your clothing.

Should you return to Bangkok, we would be delighted to welcome you back.

Kind regards,

Myself and my partener stayed here on 13th Oct 2012 for 1 night and then on 18th Oct 2012 for a further 2 nights. The hotel is great, great location, very clean, great swimming pool and facilities. The rooms were luxury and the bed was so comfortable. They had a cocktail bar called the Saphire bar which was great. My only problem was that the food and the mini bar in the hotel is quite expensive and maybe they should reduced prices slightly. But, I will definatley stay here again :)

Getting around Bangkok is a nightmare, especially if you're new or only there for a few days. The Sukosol is about 3 mins walk from the BTS (skytrain) line which is also the location for the airport rail link - so the hotel is super convenient compared to the vast majority. This alone would save you hours a day in walking around in 30 degree heat or sitting in traffic.

The hotel itself is very pleasant and, because it's an upgrade of an old hotel, the rooms are about 30% bigger than most hotels in the price-range. They have new bathrooms, great beds, a proper desk and free internet etc > all the stuff you expect from hotels but don't always get. The (free) pool and gym facilities are also fantastic and even include a sauna if the heat of the day wasn't enough for you already.

Because the hotel isn't part of a global chain and is locally owned the staff are definitely take more pride in helping you find things on maps, plot a course there or suggest locations to check out.

Room Tip: Amazingly convenient location and large rooms compared to most similarly priced hotels.

Stayed here with girlfriends on a flying two night visit. Our deluxe room was very large, had a nice little table with two chairs and a desk in the alcove, and a gorgeous bathroom. Beds were a wee bit on the hard side, but was impressed by the size of their roll away beds - not the small uncomfortable roll aways hotels usually use.

The Phaya Thai skytrain station is a few minutes walk from the front door giving you easy access to Siam Square, Central World and MBK for all your shopping needs.

I found the majority of the staff weren't overly friendly, but they did get the job done.

Breakfast here was exceptional. Huge variety and really, really nice.

Overall a good stay.
