“This hotel is next to the Cemetery !!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2011

After a day trip in Bangkok, we checked in the hotel at night.

The first thing I found out of this hotel is that they reuse the Slipper !! When I look at that 2 pairs of dirty slippers, I was speechless. Thought our friends were so lucky to get clean and new one. And the room is quiet dark, just not enough lighting. The room is newly renovated ONLY on bathroom and TV, but not the rest of the room, eg, the switches, beds, sofa, desk and deco are old one.

In the next morning, we when up the pool in the roof top and looking around. But so shock to find out that the Hotel is next to the Cemetery !!

Many years ago a journalist got me onto this hotel. It is great value for money, the roof terrace bar/restaurant is amazing- and has fantastic food. Service great. Internet over-priced. Location good. Breakfast wonderful! Book through Asia Rooms- will cost you half the price you would pay at the hotel, or through other web sites. Rooms are very large, but will admit, they are older- but still, you have a lounge, self contained very large room- great value!

Location is average, its 30 minutes walk to china town, sometimes is walking best choice if the traffic it too high. To the old centre to Wat Po or Khao san road you must take a taxi or tuk tuk. But hotel is about 7 minutes from Phat pong.
Hotel has a Pool on roof whic is usefull when you came back from long trip around the city. Rooms are big and comfy, but they has really thin walls and when my neigbhors has some thai girls in room we heard every words end everything else.... From the hall you dont hear anything but from rooms is terrible... Hotel has very good large breakfast with plenty of kind food, you can make own egs atd..
But price and location its not best in Bangkok.

This hotel was very cheap - but partially due to the fact it was in construction. The renovated rooms - great. Un-renovated... not great. When it is done it will be awesome.

It was in Silom - so you are near Phatpong. I would stay there again.

This hotel has sttod the test of time. For my 10 years plus trips to the land of smiles, I have fortunately enough come across this little gem of a hotel in my earlier years of traveling. I have seen it go from one color to another, the front desk being renovated, the lobby bar being built, the entrance doors changing. Seems this hotel has been changing to keep up with the times. A warm smile and a welcome back, makes one feel like your at home. This hotel isnt one of those 5 star hotels that have rewards programs, or any frills of redemption of staying. What it does offer is a consistant service and a warm feeling of coming home. Most staff from what i see have been there well past he 10 years I have traveld to this hotel, and they recognize those guest who return year after year. The gym is nice, and the pool deck is the spot to cath those rays earlier in the day , as the limited chairs are quickly snatched up. The chairs could use a upgrade of sorts as they have not faired well..( my suggestion, increase the chairs, umbrellas, and the deck top pool will be the place to be ). Rooms are nice , were not talking any 5 star nice but comfortible and clean, the bed is nice to sleep , and what is needed most and the highlight is the high powered individually controlled air con units in each room,Definately a value with the heat of Thailand Beating down on you all day its nice to have a cool retreet to hide in when needed. When ones in thailand your not there for the hotel experince of the grand 5 stars, but a comfortible sleep and a nice safe environment. If you want to save on your wallet, for those extra shopping gifts, then this is the place to stay.

Our stay in this hotel was quite brilliant! The rooms are huge and contain 2 queen size beds . Good views across the city and not far from entertainment district and a skytrain station .
Nice rooftop bar and pleasant groundfloor bar .
