“High Traffic, not if you prefer a quiet chill out holiday.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2010

A centralised hotel to be recommended for hard core shopaholics cos it is conveniently located near Platinum Mall and there is free shuttle buses that goes to MBK or Siam Discovery Centre that starts at 10am!
There is a garment wholesale building nearby and with such convenience, I am not surprised that the hotel is a hot favourite among tourist.
Also, there is always a queue where tourists line up to take the lift to the observaton deck on the 77th floor.
Getting to my hotel room can be a chore. I am on the 59th and I always have to wait to get into the lift as most times it is packed.
I didnt figure out how I can get access to 51th where my mum's room is, I guess my access is only permitted on 59th. Hence, we got to get to the lobby to pass each other stuffs. This room arrangement wasnt ideal & the hotel staff explained that we did a separate booking on internet and plus the rooms are all fully booked, they cant arrange for us to be on the same floor. I guess I got to be specific with special instructions when i next book via internet. Or rather, if it is off peak season I may get the rooms changed.
The golf range is a nice place snack, chill out & practise your swings.
The Spa is also reasonably priced. They have a 6 hours package that is 3500Baht.
The view from the threadmill in the gym is quite a movitation. High up & facing the Platinum Mall.
There is a night market that closes at 12am, just below the hotel.

Hotel location is excellent - right in the heart of Indra market and about 5 minutes walk from the Platinum mall (great shopping indeed!). Catching a cab is easy right outside the hotel and about a 20 minute drive to places like MBK, Siam Paragon, etc. The room served its purpose well - to leave our shopping bags in the evenings and return at night to sleep. We were hardly in the hotel at other times.

Rooms itself are just average. We got upgraded so that was a good thing. The hotel offers great views but sadly, the windows are hardly cleaned so the view from the room is nothing fantastic. The hotel has a viewing area on the top floor which is revolving and free for hotel guests. This was great - so windy and looking down at Bangkok City was just amazing.

Breakfast high up in the sky was good. There is a good variety and food is fresh. The watermelon juice is a must try. Overall - a good hotel and value for money. But if you really want a 5-star hotel, stay elsewhere.

A nice, clean hotel, with comfortable bed. The buffet breakfast is really good, if you aren't afraid of heights....it's on the 82nd floor! The elevator system needs to be improved. They work by inserting your room key card into a slot then pressing the number of your floor. Everyone in the elevator has to do it, and if you aren't quick enough, you will end up ten or twenty floors above your floor and have to come back down. Very friendly staff.

I chose this hotel because I liked the idea of staying in Thailand’s tallest building. I booked a non-smoking junior suite in the 'space zone' but was given a regular room which was on a smoking floor and you could smell it. Moved next day to the correct room, but all the rooms seem tired and in need of refurbishment. For the same money there are a number of 'branded' hotels you can stay in. Bangkok's traffic is legendary and the hotel in some kind of one-way system so you can be stuck for a while. Breakfast buffet was OK with a good selection of food, and being a 'Space Zone' resident you get the quieter restaurant. When we took in the view at the top in the Sky Bar it was very tatty indeed.

This is officially the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff were not at all helpful and due to it being an attraction, there are too many people around the hotel at all times making it very hard to relax and enjoy.
If you have a choice between staying here and any other hotel - any other hotel would be your best option. You are only paying for the view not any quality what-so-ever.

The hotel is a perfect base if you are in BKK with a serious agenda of garment shopping. Otherwise, the surroundings are rather dingy and chaotic. The buffet right at the top of the building is the best way to end a day. The buffet spread literally circles the building, with excellent variety of multiple Asian cuisines. Rooms are average and, compared to the age of the building, seem rather worn. While the interiors are a bit low on "class", the pricing is very very pocket friendly. There is a lively buzz at any time of the day, with tourists and shoppers thronging the lobby. A big advantage, now, is the proximity to the airport rail link.

I have spend in Baiyoke Sky only one night(unfortunately), but I will be back 100%! I loved this hotel, location and people. The only thing I didn't like in a hotel: Guest Relations agents, they are not professional at all. No smile, or false one, it was obvious that they are tired and don't want to speak even prejudging. It's not acceptable at all! I know better than anyone how GR should work, cause I have experience more than 4 years in that position. May be they behaved such way because we are from Russia, like they're, but it is not an excuse. Other staff was excellent: bellmen, reception and HK.
Anyway we loved our stay on 72nd floor in Superior suite - great view in a day and night time! Spa was nice(foot massage - i loved it)))
Also would like to say to ppl who are going for the first time to Bangkok to be careful with the drivers of tuk-tuks and taxi as well, Ask the to use taxi-meter before you start your way. Even policeman outside of the hotel(next to the entrance) was involved. Take care.
Baiyoke sky - forever!
