“Nothing nice besides views from the Rooftop Bar”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2009

Stayed once few years ago as the place is located at Pratunam
and within easy walking distance to major shopping centers: Central World Plaza, Gaysorn Plaza, Peninsula Plaza, Siam Paragon, Siam Discovery, Siam Center, Siam Square, MBK Center and the train.

Although the brochures suggest 4 starts, it's hardly 3 stars, and if you book Baiyoke Sky Suites Hotel is more like 2-stars, very grotty.

Being romantic, my girlfriend and I went up in a lift 309 metres to the Bangkok Sky Restaurant on the 76th floor. The food weas very poor quality and unless you are hundgry, the experience is poor. There is an observation deck on the 77th floor for fantastic 360° panoramic views of Bangkok, however the windows are grotty and I do not recommend it.

My husband and I arrived at the hotel just before noon due to our flight schedule. Reception politely told us that the room was not ready and asked that we check in at 2pm. We spent 2 hours around the hotel checking out the different places. At 2pm, we went to the reception again and was told that housekeeping was checking the mini bar. Reception apologised and asked that we return in 15 minutes' time. We hang around the lobby and waited. At 2.15pm we walked up the reception and stood for another 15 minutes before the Reception told us to return in 20minutes time!
Thats it! It was too much. We were there to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we felt we were being pushed around! I demanded to see the manager. Manager arrived not looking at me to hear my complaint but started checking the computer. Within a few minutes, he said he had upgraded us to a better room. I was horrified and upset.
I wrote a letter there and then to complain.
That night, there was a 10cm cake with"Happy Honeymoon" but no letter of explanation or apologies. The management pretended nothing happened. We pretended we never saw the cake...

The hotel is the tallest in Bangkok with great views from the 77th floor (breakfast floor). It is a 20minute walk to the nearest sky train, however a new station right next to the hotel is due to open by the end of next year. The hotel is conveniently placed for Bangkok whole sale markets and outdoor eateries. Hotel staff are very friendly. Health Spa and fitness faciliities are very good.

The room - magnificent views, besides the fact that they decided to stick up a huge BMW ad on the month of our trip.
The Service - House keeping staff were excellent! Thanks Ms Tan for the free bottles of water every morning!!! The staff at the reception desk were not helpful and were very snappy. When you try explain something to them, they don't really try to understand what you are saying. The concierge were always helpful when I would put my laptop on hold. The guy downstairs in the white uniform who's job was to greet and open doors for it's guests wasn't very nice! He saw us approaching, he quickly walked inside not opening the door for us. So RUDE! The security hanging around the shuttle bus was lazy to open the shuttle bus door if it has just arrived with asian patrons.
Don't expect special treatment if you are of an asian background unless you give them a few Bahat. So in other words, got to tip them to treat you the same as their non asian guests.
I wouldn't recommend staying in this hotel, it wasn't worth it for us. The shuttle bus was late most of the time due to the traffic. If you walk from the hotel to the Central World Plaza, it was only a good 10-15 minute walk without stopping (looking at the stalls on the way).
If you love to shop, stay at Siam Tower! Highly recommended! It is conveniently located just on top of the siam centre and next door to all the major shopping centres. You can go up to your room anytime to drop off shopping and go back down and continue on your merry way. No need to be wasting time waiting for the bus outside in the heat.

I and my friends did not stay here during our trip to Bangkok but we just hang out at the Skybar for a drink..
but unfortunately it was not as nice as shown in their webpage..
the skybar's staffs are not friendly, the bar itself was quite old and the floor was broken..
would not go to the skybar again...

We have stayed in this hotel on three occasions. The rooms are gorgeous and the staff are so friendly. The views are amazing and the best thing is that you can find your hotel anywhere while in Bangkok as it is the tallest building in Thailand. We often walked all over Bangkok and found our way very back very easily.
Breakfast is amazing.
I would highly recommend the Baiyoke Sky Hotel.
