“Novelty Wore Off”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2014

I felt like this hotel had no soul, it's so big and a bit of a tourist attraction, but it just felt boring. I can't fault the breakfast buffet. However, after how much I paid for the hotel, I was disappointed to be charged 750 bhat to get on the top floor. All I wanted was a few photos, I tried explaining that I felt ill and I wasn't hungry. So I tried to justify my fee by eating a few slices of mango. You're paying for the view, which to be fair, is brilliant. I stayed on the 68th floor, the lifts were also annoying.

Lobby on the 5th floor, room on 64th "WOW". Biiiiiiig rooms and bathrooms for a price that is unbeleivable. Indira market is next to the hotel. Lots of indian restaurants around the hotel. The breakfast is on the topmost floor of the hotel . The spread is too good. The view from the restaurant is nothing short of amazing. The breakfast menu spans all continents. This hotel offers more than you can ask for. The hotel will ask a deposit during check in which will be returned on checkout. If you give your credit card then the amount will be blocked by the hotel and then cancelled during checkout, Which means you cannot use your credit card for the amount cancelled for the next 10 or 15 days, so better to give cash as deposit and take a receipt which will be returned during check out.

Room Tip: The higher the room , better the view and more costly is the room. But every penny is worth it.

First of all, the hotel is located in Pratunam which is close to all the shopping places in Bangkok. Its close proximity to ARL train station is also a plus (making traveling to/from airport easy and cheap). And one of the best thing when staying in Baiyoke Sky is obviously the bird-eye view of the city (which is totally amazing).

However, the hotel room and service is just average. Room interiors are old, breakfast buffet definitely can be better. And sometimes the hotel is flooded with tourists visiting the observation deck, so it's painful to get into the lift from ground floor. Wonder why they don't have exclusive lifts just for in-house guests.

So overall, it's a good hotel to stay in if you want to experience all the view and convenience of location, but don't stay here if you expect something more luxury for the room and services.

Room Tip: The higher the better.

The hotel it seems is very popular with the guided tours of various countries..There were groups from india,south-east asia in the hotel lobby checkin in at almost any time of the day..
The hotel is located opp. to the Indra market. The market and the area is most frequented by Indians it seems, as the road next to the hotel is lined up with Indian restaurants.
The buffet breakfast is served on the 78th floor, and the restaurant gives you a 360 degree view of the city..Any restaurant would take a good amount as a cover charge for entry in a restaurant like this..The breakfast was lavish too..
Rooms were jaded and need renovation, but the room size is easily twice the size of any 5 star category hotel room I've stayed in..
the downside is that wifi is free only in the hotel lobby and they charge around 400 bhat for a days wifi..
except for the room size i don't think there is anything that would make me consider staying here again...

Room Tip: the higher the room the better the view is...

I stayed in this hotel last year on September.
here are my review for this hotel based on my experience.

pros:
- the room was nice, clean and big enough (it was suite room).
- the staffs were polite
- the breakfast was great with many meals choices
- has good location. walking distance with pratunam market and platinum mall
- nice Bangkok City view
- has 24/7 mini market in the Lobby

con:
- the breakfast place was in opposite side from the elevator to my room, so i have to go to the lobby first and then change the elevator to reach the breakfast room.

Room Tip: if you have to check out on the next day, you better bring your luggage and put it in the concierge...

The view of the lobby is stunning as it located at 18th floor of the building. The hotel has a very nice sky bar and it also provides a 365 degree view of the bangkok city at the highest floor. Other than these, the quality of this hotel is average. The room is big but it looks old (and same as the corridor). The buffet breakfast is very disappointed and is not recommend to try.

A gentle reminder, the hotel will only return the deposit (for my case, 1000 bath/night) after 1 week if choose to use credit card for that.

Room Tip: Higher floors seems to have a better view. But I doubt we can see it clearly as 3 of the rooms that...
