“Excellent stay at great hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2013

I stayed at the Baiyoke Sky Hotel for about 3 weeks and all i can say is: Great. My room was fresh, clean and very nice with a great view, overlooking central Bangkok (i stayed at 49th floor!).
A/C was quiet and effective (i hardly even noticed it) staff was always friendly and service minded, and the food, especially the breakfast buffet at 78th or 82nd floor, was delicious. (i have stayed at many hotels in bangkok, but i've never seen a better (or bigger!) breakfast buffet) they also have a chinese restaurant at 79th floor...try it! you won't be disappointed.
There is a well-equipped gym and spa area with massage and various beauty treatments + a nice big swimming pool at 20th floor. The hotel has many elevators, to handle all the hotel guests and visitors. There is one set of elevators for the "high zone" (floors 50-82) and another set of elevators for the lower zone (floors 22-49) The lobby is sitauted on floor 18.
The surroundings couldn't be better...the hotel is located right in the very centre of Bangkok, with the Pratunam market with its abundant shopping possibilities right around the corner. Airport link (it takes about 25 minutes to Suvarnabhumi for 45 baht) is about 5 minutes walk from the hotel.
All in all, this was a great stay, I really think this is Bangkok at its best, and I'd love to stay there again anytime.

Room Tip: the higher you get, the less noise from the streets.

The hotel left a good impression, despite the expensive internet. We lived three days in the cheapest room on the 41st floor, swimed in the pool on the 21st floor, had a breakfast on the 79.
At night, a very nice view from the room and from the observation deck, which is free for hotel residents.
Air conditioning in the room is very noisy.

We stayed in the hotel for 2 nights as we wanted to be right in the city and easy access to shopping and markets. We were upgraded to the 63 rd. floor , lovely view but nothing special about the floor as we came out from the` packed like sardines. lift due to constant crowds going up and down to and fro from the viewing gallery.
The `Ladys'; floor was foul and musty smelling and dark! The room was very spacious and on close examination the glass shelves was covered in dust and shower cubicle has mould and stains!!!

Reached Bangkok on 19 June, 2013 and checked in at Hotel Baiyoke Sky which is at Ratchaprarop Rd. I stayed with My Wife and Daughter for 4 nights at this Hotel. The hotel itself is a tourism spot, being the tallest hotel in Thailand. On check in you have to deposit US$100 or Baht 3000 which will be refunded on your Check out.
Hotel Baiyoke Sky have STANDARD ZONE where rooms are on 22nd flr to 45th flr, SKY ZONE where rooms are on 46th flr to 63rd flr and SPACE ZONE where rooms are on 64th Flr to 74th Flr. On 77th and 82nd floor there is restaurant situated where guest are served Breakfast. On 84th floor there is observation deck with revolving platform from here you have marvelous view of city. Staff here are very friendly , helpful, cheerful and polite. Here they speak English and so check in is very smooth. Check out time is 12 pm but for Space Zone Member check out time is extended upto 2 pm. Rooms are very specious and clean. Bathrooms are big too and very well maintained. You get welcome drink coupon which you can redeem any time during your stay from 82nd floor. Guest having Rooms In Space Zone gets 20 mints of leg Massage coupon per person.
Breakfast has lots and lots of variety to satisfy your taste buds. Fruits are of best quality and good spread of breads, muffins, crossiants, salads, Chess , Indian Channa masala, Tea, Cofee, Fruit juices etc. Top of it fantastic view of City while having Breakfast on 77th or 82nd floor.
Swimming pool, Spa and Gym is on 20th Floor. Reception of the Hotel is on 18th floor. Over all best Hotel with ideally situated in middle of shopping Market and with many Indian restaurants near by.
There is this myth we Indian have that we can bargain at the half price. I have experienced that Thia vendors are not happy with our attitude and gets very angry. They will snatch the goods from our hand and will refuse to sell if we bargain much. The stuff priced at bhat 250 or 200 will get at maximum bargained price of bhat 200 or 170 respectively. For food go to GUPTAJI KI KITCHEN as this is the only place you get food reasonably priced and with out any Taxes or Service charges. Guptaji offers fixed buffet at bhat 100 unlimited and one can have option of al la carte at their other joint ,one block ahead. Please carry water bottle you get complimentary by hotel in room as no restaurant provides drinking water and one has to buy it. Mr Phoolchand at Guptaji Ki Kichen is very cheerful & helpful person and u will forget you are in Bangkok.
Here you will get first copy of all famous brands of clothing, watches and smart mobile phones. Visit Wat Pho and Wat Arun. By Taxi from Baiyoke Sky it takes 45 minutes and meter will be 140 to 150 Bhat. Entry fee is 100 bhat per person. Wat Pho is temple where Reclining Buddha statue of Gold is situated. From Wat Pho just take boat to get opposite side for Wat Arun. Boat charge is 3 bhat per person on way. Coming back one can take Local bus from Wat Pho which has ticket of 6 bhat 50 senag and get down at siam area where you can visit MBK mall, Siam Discovery mall etc.
Hotel Baiyoke Sky is best place to stay as all the markets are in the same vicinity. Street Market is just below the Hotel and Indra Market is opp and than you have Partunam Market and Platinum Fashion Mall with in 5 mints walking distance. There is Free Shuttle service provided by Hotel In every half hrs interval starting from Hotel Parking area to siam area where you can go to malls like Siam Paragon, Siam Discovery, MBK Mall, Big C, Central Plaza etc.
Had a fantastic Time with my Family and would recommend Hotel Baiyoke Sky for Stay in Bangkok.
Special Thanks to tour Escorts Mr. POP, Mr. Prachee, Driver Mr. Hang from M/s. Chin Tour Co Ltd for wonderful service. These people are very Professional, Punctual and Friendly. My Hotel Rooms and all Sight Seeing was perfect and as promised. Ms. Wah Managing Director of Company was very helpful even though we only spoke via Phone but she was very co-operative. Very well Managed Travel Co with knowledgeble Tour escorts and Drivers.

Let me premise this by stating that this hotel was booked for the tail end of a trip starting in Beijing and working through Cambodia and Thailand, and from the photos we saw online, we were anticipating this to be hands down the nicest hotel of the lot. As it turns out, it was the worst hotel I may have ever stayed in. For starters, the room was booked well in advance and we were told "for this rate you're guaranteed to be staying above the 63rd floor--pretty enticing--but upon arrival we were given a room on the 50th floor. The view was decent, but it was tough to allow that to make up for the horrible quality of the room itself. The carpet was dirty, ugly, and had tears, there were rips in the wall, filthy bathroom, etc. Not to mention, the beautiful room pictured while booking looked nothing like what we ended up staying in.

That said, we figured we would be spending minimal time there, so we'll enjoy the view as well as the beds....until laying down and realizing that if you're 6 feet tall, you'll struggle to fit comfortably in the bed. Of course a hot shower could remedy some of that discomfort--but there was no hot water! With all of this, let's take the place up on its free breakfast. Okay, the food was edible, not good, not putrid, but would never pay for it. The tables were very cheap and I was afraid of tipping the table over several times, etc.

The Sky Bar has a lot of potential with its views, but the delivery on promise was lacking. The music kept cutting out, and when it was actually on and very loud, we were hearing Justin Bieber Christmas tunes.... IN JUNE.

Very few staff members understand any western dialects (I tried them all), and the place was an absolute chaotic madhouse from start to finish. There is promise in the product offering, but the delivery was horrible. I'd rather stay at a Motel 6.

I am currently staying at Baiyoke Sky in Bangkok. This is our last city visit in Thailand after staying in Phuket, Phi Phi Island, Krabi, Koh Samui. Ive experienced GREAT hospitality from the locals ALL over Thailand until I reached Baiyoke Sky Hotel. Besides the view... This place is a huge joke and a phenomenal disappointment. The senior staff and reception do not smile ever. They do not make you feel welcome. They do not help you to your own satisfaction and do not treat you as a guest. Utterly unprofessional, unkind & unfriendly. They will be hearing more from me. And so will South African citizens.

This hotel has a very good view of Bangkok, no doubt. Staff needs to be trained for courtesy and hospitality, specially senior staff. The duty manager behaves as if he is giving room free of cost. When I checked in, I was given a coupon to collect the 'Welcome Drink', What a joke :), is welcome drink given on arrival needs to be collected or redeemed from some other place, ha ha ha.
Rooms are average 3 star quality but good size. Tall Bangkok tourists are coming in evening to see the observatory so there is lot of rush in evening you really have to secure your place in lift and need to manage yourself, hotel staff does not manage anything and crowded always.
Internet only for one hour free, that too you need to request. Hotel staff does not remember anything about complimentary stuff, you have to remind them so hospitality is totally missing. Porter is always looking for tips else they will say something in 'Thai' which you will not understand.
The hotel is in the narrow road and there is no portico so imagine you are entering in a second class mall when you entering in the hotel. There is night market every day on the road so you have to struggle to reach to hotel or to come out from hotel. No road worth going near hotel, absolutely crowded and you have to check every time if your kids and family is with you and safe or not.
Pool is ok quality and water is salty. Observatory is really nice and worth. I would not recommend to stay in this hotel but you should definitely visit the observatory.

Room Tip: Nothing in your hand to choose a room or anything.
