“Full Marks to Location, Breakfast buffet & the view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013

We had booked 4 rooms and hotel gave us only one room as early check in i.e. 12noon. Rest all the rooms were provided at 2 pm. First the good things - The View from the hotel is undoubtedly is the best in Bangkok. The location is just great. Right amidst shopping area i.e. Indra Regent & Pratunam market. Hotel is surrounded by many indian restaurants so indian travellers need not worry. The breakfast buffet which at the 82nd floor is a treat and spoils you for choice. IT'S HUGE. Starting from Thai to chinese, to indian to Japanese and continental. Room Service is okay. Food orders take 30-40 mins to serve in room. If you are a guest then you can go to the revolving deck at 84th floor anytime during the day and spend as long time as u want. As for tourist there is a ticket. The family mart store is there at lobby so buying things gets easier. Now the bad things - The hotel takes THB 3000 as security deposit during the check in. The elevator which is level wise is such a pain. you have to keep shuttling between one elevator level to another before you could get to your room. And it gets worse in the evening when tourists start flocking in. then the wait is endless. We were at the Deluxe sky zone, compared to the status of the zone, the rooms are very small and basic with only two chairs and no sofa. No toiletries, but the shampoo and shower gel dispensers are installed in the bathing area. Now the biggest problem - The Bathing shower makes such a LOUD NOISE in the bedroom that on the first day my kid got scared and started crying. If u r sleeping and someone in ur room has gone to take shower, i bet you would jump out of your bed to find out whats happening.

Room Tip: If u r going to Bangkok for shopping and looking for a star hotel then ur search ends here. The tari...

This hotel is awesome! Having a room with a full window wall at that height is mind-blowing! I see it has had quite a few bad reviews but I cant fault my stay here. As with all the Thai people everyone was helpful and friendly.

If you want something different and up out of the noise and bustle of BKK its worth a night or two. Wont be the best stay you ever had but the views wil stay with you.

Room Tip: Try get one as high up as you can!

This hotel has a great view from the room The breakfast is abundant with a large variety to choose from, I must say it was one of my best hotel breakfasts, and the view from the breakfast area is superb. The roof top bar also has a nice atmosphere. The location is great also, there are markets right outside the hotel, Starbucks is just a 2 minute walk away and if you do not feel like walking tuk-tuks are everywhere. The rooms aren't that bad also, but good enough and the pro's outweigh the cons with this hotel.

I'm not sure if staying at the sky zone will make a difference but I thought at level 25 it should be decent.
Location is quite convenient, nearest is Ratchaprapop BTS station. However it requires walking through the pratunum market which is very crowded and can be quite dirty. The hotel was very crowded and you have to access the 18th floor main lobby by taking another lift from ground floor which means a long queue every time. My booking didnt come with wifi but the charges are quite steep when you can easily purchase a SIM card on your own.
Hotel is also quite old with big rooms that could be better utilized. there is a huge empty space between bed and TV. there is another empty corner outside the closet. because of the space and distance, the room is not well-lit. basic amenities are available and decent bathroom. didn't try the international buffet although there's discount for occupants. overall, if you are not shopping at pratunum all the time, it would be advisable to stay elsewhere to avoid making your way from the bts - chidlom about 15min walk and through the huge crowd before reaching a lift lobby to go to another lobby.

It is not a hotel. It is city. We stayed in the sky zone. The view from the room window was great. Breakfast was very good. Room was nice and clean. Location was not one of the best. A night market make the place worst. But when we were in room 62 floor we were above the world. The view from the rotating top platform was excellent. The breakfast is around 80th floor, giving a very good view.

Room Tip: Take the room at sky or space zone

If looks could be deceiving this hotel is a perfect example. Horrid experience right from arrivals to departure..
Location-Well connected by the city line station to the airport and the malls. But located in a heavily crowded neighbourhood where market starts from 5am in the morning till late evenings. If you are here for peace of mind you should forget it at home.
Hotel-very crowded since its a tourist attraction. No separate lifts for hotel guests to get to the lobby which is on the 18th floor. Waiting time anywhere between 20 min to get to the lobby in the middle of the day. Change ur lift from the lobby to get to ur respective floors. It is a good struggle to get to your rooms.
Staff-Rigid and Rude ...bad experience with the housekeeping staff who start shouting at you when you ask them to make your room, the front desk staff who has a hard time speaking decent English and explaining us about hotel facilities and check in formalities.
Connectivity-Ridiculously the only hotel in Thailand which to my knowledge charges 400-bht per day for Wifi. .Moreover we were promised 2 hours of wifi at the time of booking which they completely denied at the time of check in..
Hospitality- doesnt exist in this hotel...Best part is when the hotel tried to show some hospitality by sending us an ant infested pastry for my friends birthday and then refused to replace it...That Sums it up for me...

The stay at Baiyoke Sky Hotel was acceptable. The room was spacious, however the carpets and sofa were old and stained. Quite run down in that sense. View was great from our level.

Check-in and Check-out were done quite seemlessly. However, when there is a crowd, waiting for the lifts can be a hassle and slow -from ground floor to lobby on 18 floor and then a seperate lift to the room.

The hotel does not have any halal food within its building. The information on its website was misleading. So for muslim tourist, heading out to the streets would be a better option for meals. There were several Halal restaurants within the area, mostly Indian/Pakistani/Arab food.

Great shopping location. There are many shops the moment you step out of the hotel. The famous Platinum mall was within walking distance and along the way, there were many other small shops to pass. The pratunam night market was located right below the hotel, making it very convenient for night shopping.

Within the hotel, going to the revolving deck at night is a must! It was the highlight of the trip. Located at the 84th floor, the experience was breath-taking and unique to the hotel. The observetary deck on the 77th floor was also good but not as great as the revolving deck.

The hotel and location is suitable for families with children. However, I wouldn't allow my toddler to crawl on their room carpet or sit on the sofa. That needs some upgrading!
