“average room in a messy surroundings with NO FREE WIFI”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012

The room decoration is kinda old. Rooms are clean tho. I booked via agoda for a suite room and at the reception when i checked on, receptionist told me "we upgraded your room to suite". EXCUSE ME ! This isn't so nice to trick their guest and trying to make them feel honored.

The surrounding areas is handy for street shopping and lots of cheap and good massages which i enjoy. Lots of restaurants of Indian food. Not 100% of what i expected from the highest building in Bangkok, but still fairly convenient place to go around.

But for those who looking for a clean and quite surroundings, you will find other places a lot better. Coz around sky hotel its a bit messy on the street and noisy. AND NO FREE WIFI IN THE ROOM.

Room Tip: higher building is good choice but anyway the window is not that clean

“Great views, big rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

We stayed in a deluxe sky zone room on L60. The room was big with great views. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean. The hotel and staff are very busy due to its size, so there can be a wait for some service and elevators. The food is very good in the 2 restaurants that we tried. Internet was for a fee, which is disappointing as only a week before stayed in a hotel at a fraction of the cost with free internet. Also you need to purchase a password from Business Services, which was closed when I got there. What I wasn't told was that I could also purchase from reception - frustrating. However, overall, this hotel is very good

“Great view and great morning market shame one dodgy bell man let us down”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2012

4 nights in bangkok was more than enough. But i must say 5 mornings of enjoying buffet breaky here never seemed to disapoint!
Rooms are a lil out dated but for wat u pay, cant really complain!
Had a very disapointing experience with a bell man 'prisit' his name was... Be aware!!! He conned us into using his brother to do floating markets and river kwai tour... All for 3000baht! Bargin as most places u pay that per person! Took a 2 hr drive to the middle of no where turned up at some type of floating market place. With no water insite... We were informed to go on boat it was 3000baht each??? We then worked out what had happened, mr dodgy bell man lied and it was 3000baht for the taxi... With limited english we demanded the driver take us back to the hotel! So all up if we had of been stupid an went along the day would have cost us well over 15,000baht for both tours! Be very careful and book thru hotel directly or registered tour agent! Big mistake!!! Funny he avoided us the rest of our stay!

“Best hotel ever!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

This is the best hotel I have every stayed in.

Pros:
1- Nice wide clean rooms with wonderful view.
2- Breakfast is amazing, all cuisines are available, varieties of everything you can imagine, plus the view.
3- There is a revolving restaurant with very good prices, very good open buffet, with amazing view in the 88th floor.
4- There is a free revolving roof deck on the 84th floor, where you can enjoy viewing the city from the sky.
5- They have organized elevators based on your room zone.
6- Only 8 mins walk to the metro station.
7- A lot of flea markets and major shopping malls like "Platinum" and "Pantip Plaza IT Mall" are around the hotel.
8- They provide a free shuttle bus to some touristic attractions like Siam Center.

Cons: Wireless Internet is charged.

Room Tip: Higher Floors worth the money for having the top view of the city.

“Good for an intoduction to Bangkok and Asian food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

We stayed here in early November for 2 nights in a deluxe sky zone room I think - we paid extra to be up higher (64th floor). First timers to Thailand and Bangkok.

Positives: amazing views from our room, and from the eateries and bars and lookout on floors 77-83!!
Amazing buffet breakfast selection! Truly international and a great introduction to different types of Asian food not seen in Australian hotels. Same comment for the seafood buffet on Saturday night - and guest pay 50% less than non guests.
Huge staff to guest ratio... Very attentive at the lifts and in eateries/bars.
Convenience store in the lobby open 24 hours - great for water purchases before you head out for the day.
2 free cold bottles of water in the fridge each day and and English copy of The Bangkok Times - both great for acclimatizing.
Nice room with great air conditioning and awesome shower pressure (although the temperature would chop and change a bit
Lobby had separate desks for checking in and out - check out was very quick! (see below for check in)
Across the road from the wholesale market building - very cheap shopping!!
155 metres from train station.

Not so positives:
This hotel has 83 floors- expect to wait for lifts. If you're not great in the heat, take cold water with you. The hallways and lifts do NOT have great air conditioning.
As well as a hotel, this place is a tourist attraction because of its height - so there are coach loads that come for the views! Again - long waits for lifts.
200 bht for 1 hour of Internet access or 400 for the day. Crazy when you can buy a prepaid sim at the airport and have unlimited Internet access for a month for 849 baht!
Public areas of the hotel (especially restaurants, bars) we found very outdated. We felt like we were back in the 80s.
Delays checking in (and that was at 8.30pm)
