“A good choice hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2010

The Landmark is a good choice hotel, which is not too expensive (compared to others in BKK), but still offers good quality services, great accomodation, and very good food. We stayed in the suite, which has a separate living room. The very same room in fact as our first stay in Landmark back in April. ( We have stayed here many times ).

There is not much wrong with the Landmark. If you want a mouth watering steak, The Rib Room is to die for. Their Chinese restaurant, Sui Siahn, is simply delicious. The location on Sukhumvit Road, is ideal for some great food, though of course can get very busy.

I have stayed here many times since April, and am always happy to see the Landmark name, as I pull up in the taxi.

The room was booked by my company and I believe I was given a deluxe room at first. I walked in and felt like I was in a 2 star motel, walls were dirty, bathroom was ok, and I had a view of the hotel's loud air conditioning unit. I asked for an upgrade to the lifestyle room and did not care at that point how much more it cost. Lifestyle room had a much nicer feel, shower was great and beds were comfy. However, the walls of this hotel are thin and I could easily hear the person next door moaning and groaning (which is not an uncommon thing in this area of Bangkok). I brought these things up with the management (who by the way are great), and I was sent a fruit basket with an apology, but no discount was offered. I was told that they have plans to upgrade their other rooms within the next year or so. I have other coworkers who, unlike mine, have had great experiences at this hotel. However, I don't know if I'll be going back here on my next trip, we'll see...

We were very pleased with the location and room here. Very well placed for shopping and nightlife. Found reasonable rates on the itnernet, Bangkok is a bargain at the moment,

Rooms are a good siye and very clean. The steak restaurant on the top floor is well worth a visit, not just for the view. Food was superb.

I used this hotel as my base for a months stay. Great value deal by emailing the hotel direct.
Fautless staff, very willing and competant. Club room excellent.I was very well looked after here by all. Friend lost his wallet, it was found in one of the resturants, returned in a sealed envelope by the management complete with all c/cards and cash.
Breakfast is very good, buffet style for all tastes.
Only irritation is a 650bht charge for wifi in your room.

I stayed here with my husband while travelling East Asia. The location of this hotel is great. It did not cost a lot to get to and from the airport even though it was about 45 min by cab. The hotel was beautiful and staff were extremely helpful. It is an upscale hotel and it shows. Probably a bit more expensive then some places in Bangkok but well worth the money. It is close to the sky train which is really easy to use (shopping, weekend market, etc). There were a lot of vendors, shopping, pubs, tailors, restaurants, etc around the hotel. The hotel helped book some tours to see the temples as well. The hotel offered pubs, restaurants, a pool, etc. I would definitly stay here again!

Everything as expected of a 4-5 star hotel. However, the television was a big disappointment. Limited channels and that too on a old 20 inch CRT TV. The rooms felt a bit worn out and need some renovation. Good staff all around and fantastic location. One should check out Amari Boulveard right opposite this hotel. Similar location, better rooms and lower rates.

Our experience at the Landmark was professional and friendly from start to finish. On check-in our room wasn't ready so we were given some free welcome drinks at the bar and then upgraded. I find it difficult to believe that a room wasn't ready at 8pm but it was still a nice touch.

The pool area was very pleasant to relax in and while I didn't have any snacks there myself, they did look very good. The pool staff were always very attentive and welcoming.

However, for me a special mention has to go to housekeeping, who were absolutely superb. Nothing was too much trouble. On one occasion we returned to the hotel after a few days in Hua Hin and the housekeeper happened to spot us coming back. She could see we were a bit tired and asked if we would like any extra water or fruit. She brought round a bowl of fruit that would have fed 10 men, and this was complimentary. When you needed anything from housekeeping they were there in seconds, not minutes.

The location of the hotel is a bit of a mixed bag. It is right in the centre of the action, near lots of bars and restaurants, but there are a load of hookers on the streets nearby. It should be said though, that it's not a dangerous or threatening area and it's kinda funny watching these girls plying their trade. However, for those with kids old enough to know what's going on in the world I couldn't really recommend it. The hotel is about a two minute walk to the nearest skytrain station and from here you can access a great many places of interest.

While the hotel is not the easiest to access on the way into Bangkok it is absolutely perfect for the return to the airport, meaning no nasty delays in traffic when you're trying to get home.

The Landmark is not the most extravagant five star hotel I have stayed in, but I would rate it as one of the best hotel experiences I've had anywhere. From top to bottom the attitude is good and it seems obvious that the people working here are happy to be working here.
