My partner and I stayed at the Banyan Tree from the 8th October for 3 nights. Being a travel agent I am very fussy when it comes to hotel and like things to be executed 'just so' and I have to say I was blown away by the Banyan Tree.

The hotel is not the newest but is lovingly maintained and I got the impression that the staff are all justifyably pleased of their establishment.

Our Club Suite was on the 55th Floor with great views over the river. It was well furnished to a high standard and had every neccessary facility and then some more thrown in for show! The hotel also provided a body scrub on arrival which was a nice touch.

During our stay we had a problem with the in room safe which was fixed immediately. We thought that was the end of it but on our return from a day of sightseeing a bottle of wine was in our room with an appology from the manager - totally unsolicited and a great demonstration of the personal service they provide.

The Club Lounge was very pleasant with complimentary drinks and snacks. It was a great place from which to watch the thunderstorms!

We used the temporary spa on the 39th floor (they are renovating the main spa facility) and the treatment was well priced and good value compared to what I had expected to find in a 5* establishment.

The restaurants were all good. The two on the top floors (pier 59 and vertigo) don't really justify the money when you can eat in one of the other lower floor restaurants at the Banyan for a fraction of the price. The food was good throughout the hotel.

All in all I would not hesitate to stay at the Banyan if I ever come to Bangkok again. I would reccommend taking advantage of the 3rd night free offer through most UK tour Operators when staying in Club Suite. It means you can have three nights in a Club Suite for a fraction more on the regular suite price and a host of benefits make it very good value for money.

I hope you stay there and enjoy!

We got married at The Banyan Tree Bangkok and as a gift received some cash vouchers to spend at the hotel. We returned this October for one night.

It was absolutely fantastic. As we remembered the staff were welcoming & friendly. The room had the most stunning city view and was as comfortable as we remembered. We were astonished by the choice of pillow we could opt for!

We visited the spa, which is temporarily under renovation and so we had our treatments in a converted hotel room. Although disappointed at not being in the actual spa initially, we could hardly be once we began. I had a facial and my husband had a massage. We both agreed it was heaven and after we floated back to our room for room service in our provided silk dressing gowns. The food was lovely - beautifully presented, hot and very tasty. We can recommend the Penang Curry.

We had an early breakfast before heading off to work. Breakfast really is a highlight. The choice is vast. We especially enjoyed our omlette made to order.

I think the thing I love most about the Banyan Tree is the way everything smells so beautiful - stay here & find out what I mean!

We're starting to save up already for our next stay.

This was one of the nicest hotels I’ve ever stayed in.
The rate on the Asiarooms website was GBP100 per night, but unfortunately there was an error in our booking which meant we had to pay the full price which was very high.
In the lobby, these huge floor to ceiling windows overlooked a mini rainforest area which provided a refreshing contrast to Bangkok city, and was very nice to look at.
The rooms are all suites, which means that there are two separate areas in each room, divided by a sliding screen. One area is the bedroom, the other is the study/lounge area.
The décor was really really nice. If I was redecorating my house, I would definitely use some Banyan Tree influences. The bathroom was spacious, with a nice walk in shower and bath; it made you feel like spending a lot of time in it. The views were excellent, overlooking Bangkok.
I tried out the restaurant Pier 59, which was on the 59th floor. I would put this restaurant on my top 20 best restaurant list world wide. The service, food, and views were all excellent. We had complimentary starters and champagne. There was an unusual tank of glow in the dark mini jellyfish in the restaurant. The bar Vertigo is a definite must-see as well and is an attraction in itself.
The pool was a bit small, but beautifully done up with very clever use of space. The spa looked really inviting as well, but I didn’t go.
On check out, I was given some complimentary vouchers to use on my next visit, which again was a nice touch. I would definitely stay here again!

Upon arrival, the bellhop took care of all our luggage. We were each greeted with a traditional flower garland, a hot towel, and a complimentary non-alcoholic cocktail. When my boyfriend and I saw the suite, we fell in love with it. The decor, the furniture... The TV needed an upgrade, but who watches TV when you're on vacation in Thailand?! There was fresh tropical (local grown) fruit that welcomed us every day (sweet and delicious!!!), and the lemon grass candle diffuser (?) was lit when we came back every evening, so a refreshing scent always filled our room.

Go try the spa!!! Piece of heaven!... I got the Rejuvenation package where I chose the "Apple and Green Tea Exfoliation Polish" and the Swedish massage. Wonderful service, and they gave fresh fruit and tea as refreshments afterwards.

The Vertigo restaurant was a great place for cocktails. It's on the rooftop. We went for drinks and a midnight snack.

The only downside is that you'll need to take a taxi if you want to go to the city core... But still, there are restaurants nearby. All in all, we had an amazing time there! We would definitely stay at Banyan Tree again!

We stayed 4 nights in Aug. 2006 prior to a 9 night jaunt to Koh Samui. First impressions not great as the hotel is sited behind another vast building so the entrance is a bit dingy; add to that the fact we were not welcomed by any of the reception staff on arrival and the fact that the Kuoni rep seemed to lose interest in us as soon as he realised we weren't interested in any of his "excursions" and the holiday didn't start too well. I'd asked for a higher floor room so we were allocated 58th. floor which had great views of the city below with wide expanse of glass although we didn't feel the suite was as big as were led to believe in the brochure; in fact we were told it was one of only a handful of non-suite rooms so we felt a bit cheated. Dined at Vertigo, wonderful experience but start saving!! We'd the 7 course menu degustation and our waiter was delightful. Breakfast was good too although when we arrived with 10 mins to go before the waiters packed up on the first morning (after 12 hr. flight) we were told to gather everything we need as they were packing up shortly; again a bit off for such a prestigious hotel chain. Very un-Thai if you ask me. Hotel pool very small and not worth the effort, but Spa and 61st floor bar excellent, if pricey but hey, this is the Banyan Tree so that's o.k. then! En suite bathroom very relaxing with quality toiletries and soft towels and marble....oh yes please. Geared more to i think the anonymous business traveller than the tourist (esp. when it's miles from the Chao Phraya) i'd give it pass marks - just. Oh, and remember it's a good 500metres to nearest MTR so bear that in mind when coming home after a days sightseeing/drinking....
