“Great stay at Banyan tree”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2013

Amazing hotel with superb facilities and rooms, and the bed was very comfortable! Guest services were very friendly and accommodating. The food in the restaurants was very good, a little on the expensive side, but worth it. If you stay here you must visit the roof top bar for a cocktail at sun set overlooking the city!

1st time to Bangkok in Feb & now back in April just for Banyan Tree. Beginning to the end with a sincere heart, that is Banyan. Great view at 52 level & great food at Saffron Thai Restaurant with marvellous & excellent service rendered. Overall staff are well trained in their service level. Laundry collection was swift. Although room is a little tired, it is well kept and tidy. Hotel do provide regular tuk tuk service to BTS station. You can also take a 10 mins walk to BTS & MRT stations. I like the free shuttle service to chatuchat market where it is recommended to visit especially for first timer.
Not to be missed is the Songkran Water Festival which is within walking distance from the hotel.

Room Tip: Great view at the higher floor

I had been stayed in Banyan Tree for 3 nights. It really disappointed me as I wish to have a enjoyable stay there. The hotel lobby is small. Room is big but old. I found my bath tub is extremely dirty, some blood are on the tub... thats really unacceptable. The bathing amenity are all in the glass container, which was hard to pour out...

However the bed is good. I found the matress is from Sealy...

I will not choose this hotel anymore if I come to Bangkok again.

I have been always in love to stay at BYT Group, Macao, Phuket, Samui etc. However, the recent experience in the one at Bangkok brought me quite a disappointment, especially the "software" part.

I just stayed one night there with my wife after a long trip in HuaHin. Location is just acceptable due to its hidden hotel-entrance where is 10 minutes walk from the closiest subway.

Check-in process was not warm and friendly as expected, since the front office lady was totally out of energy with no smile at all who didnt bother to talk much about the hotel description, location etc. But I am glad that there was a guest service lady bringing a cold drink which was an absolutely nice touch in a hot summer time with directing me where was the elevators. Bell service team needs to be improved on their efficiency and initiative. Upon arrival and departure, no one was trying to assist with our luggages because they were extremely busy with serving some of their recognized VIPs.

The guestoom is very generous in size which is almost over 60sqm in a suite shape with having a free wifi.

With having numerious 5 star fine hotel choices in Bangkok, I am afraid this hotel is no longer on my top list of stay.

I stayed at the Peninsula our first time in Bangkok, and their service was top notch. Given, this is a newer property than Banyan tree, but it is supposed to be in the same class. The two couldnt be more different. This place is dirty, dusty, and dated, and the staff, is 50pct polite, 50pct borderline rude. It is a lot more crowded with a bit of a lower end clientele. The breakfast is decent, the bathrooms have a decent view. It doesnt compare in any category to the Peninsula.

Room Tip: Pick somewhere else.

Dear dcgreuner,

Thank you very much for the comments regarding your recent stay at Banyan Tree Bangkok.

In apologizing for not meeting all of your expectations, I also wish to thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention as it is very important for us to know how our guests feel about our products and services, so that we may have the opportunity to continually learn and see where improvements may be necessary, making sure that Banyan Tree Bangkok consistently lives up to its reputation and brand name.

We have noted your comments in regards to our facilities, and I am sorry you did not find it adequate; we are conscious of the fact that we are not amongst the newest in town, and also that our facilities are different from our sister resorts. We constantly work on improving different areas of the hotel, there will be more soft refurbishment lined up for this year including part of our room inventory and some of the dining outlets as well. Although the majority of response from our guests is general positive, but I do appreciate your perception and point of view, and I thank you for letting us know.

For what pertains to our level of clientele, all guests are equally important to us and that the same level of service and courtesy is accorded to each and every one.

To this end, we appreciate the time you have taken to share your experience and renew our apologies for any inconvenience that may cause.

With best regards,

We stayed at the BYT for 3 nights at the start of a 2 week holiday. Our first time in Thailand so wanted a good quality hotel in a good location. The excellent reviews for this hotel helped us to make our decision to stay here and they were all true. We stayed in a club room but it felt like a suite it was enormous and overlooked the swimming pool 2 floors below. A hotel room in London of this quality would have cost 10 times the price. The staff were friendly and welcoming but left us to our own devices which was perfect. There had been some negative comments about the location of the hotel but we used as many modes of transport as we could to see the sights which made the experience even more 'real' and enjoyable. The sky train is a 10 minute walk away, easy to find, very modern and the staff spoke English at the station to help us with tickets. We went to Siam square and below the sky train station is a bustling night market. We also found a good Irish pub with a Thai Beatles tribute band playing so stayed a lot longer than planned but a great spontaneous night out. Day 2 was spent utilising the river boat, we took a normal taxi to the river boat station for around £1.50 and then paid £6 for 2 tickets that you could use all day. We got some amazing photos and saw so many of the sights it's well worth the trip. At night we visited Vertigo bar although this was very busy so just took some amazing photos and then went down 2 floors to Latitude bar which was a lot quieter but still with great views. There is a a lot more of Bangkok still for us to see but if/when we return this hotel will be top of our list and it was great value.

Room Tip: Definitely upgrade to a club room, it's not a lot more money and you get an amazing room and ben...
