Stayed in the Imperial Queens Park Hotel week 15th June 2009 - nice hotel, good location but fiddly policies! We booked in for three people and gave three names, my
wife, nine year old and myself. Were asked at reception if we required breakfast, which
we replied in the positive. When we went for breakfast we were informed that we were
only entitled to two breakfasts not three and we would have to pay extra for a third! If I
check in for three and indicate i would require breakfast I expect 3 breakfasts not 2!
For a supposedly 5 star hotel it was pretty shoddy - have stayed in other 5 stars in
Bangkok and have never had this problem - won't be staying here again.

Stayed at this hotel for 4 days en route to australia.Sorry we bothered.
Positives - Communal areas in hotel are beautiful and the staff wonderful.Unfortunately
thats were it ends.

Negatives- The hotel building itself is quite dated looks like it was built in the 70,s and this is reflected in the rooms. For Bangkok standards the rooms are quite basic and dated - I would say shabby especially the bathrooms.Rooms are damp and we had cockroaches in our room which apparently is the norm in this hotel - they regularly spray the rooms because of this.
The road the hotel is located on is full of massage parlours and "dodgy looking" bars - (you know what I mean) and you are constantly harassed when you go out the hotel.Believe me I am no prude and have been to Bangkok many times but this is not a good area.
Not much in terms of stalls around the hotel but there is a large expensive shopping
mall at the back of the hotel across the park. Also its about a 10min walk to the skytrain next to the park to other areas of the city.
Overall not impressed and I wouldnot recommend this hotel. On the way back we cancelled our booking and stayed in the AMARI WATERGATE instead which is FANTASTIC and how hotels should be.

I was put here by the company i worked for, and quickly advised they move me. I had thngs crawling over me 4 times within 10 minutes whilst typing this review !!
hairs on my bedding, The shelving unit around the sink obviously had not been wiped for some time, The rug at the end of the bed was covered in white stains and the furniture must of come out of Noah's Ark it was that old.

The bed was hard, but they did give you fantastic pillows. the room was large but no carpet and was very bare. great for a backpacker, not for business. again it seems very popular with Ladys of the night, Moneyboys and Airline crews.

oh and the 2 pools needed a good clean !!!!

We stayed here as part of our honeymoon for 3 nights. I could not find any fault at all with this hotel, the staff were excellent, the hotel looked great.

The location of the hotel is great - right off the main road and close to lots of restaurants and bars. I cant understand why people have rated this hotel any less than 5/5!

Breakfast was fantastic - plenty of choice. We also ate dinner in the restaurant one night - a buffet, which was excellent value and endless choices of food.

We will certainly return to this hotel next time we're in Bangkok.

Ok so this hotel is not the Ritz. The rooms are a bit tired and the decor a bit old fashioned. However, I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again. It is huge, well maintained and spotlessly clean.

The staff are wonderful, friendly and every one of them take time to acknowledge you with a friendly hello. You can tell this is a very well managed hotel.

My room had everything I needed. Comfortable bed, TV, tea and coffee making facilities, safe, 24 hour room service and wireless internet connection. The communal areas are well maintained and I found the food and drinks to be of a very good quality. There is a lovely deli in the lobby serving fresh sandwiches, salads and coffee. Very reasonably priced and very tasty. There are quite a few shops in the lobby including a tailor and jewellers.

At the back of the hotel is a lovely park with a lake in the middle. As a female on my own some of the time during my stay I felt very safe here. Lots of people doing yoga and jogging. Nice park benches to just sit and watch the world go by. This park really is a haven in the middle of such a busy city.

At the front of the hotel is a busy road just off Sukumvit. Again I felt very safe here. You really feel like you are in the real Bangkok in this area compared to some of the more touristy areas I've stayed in before. You really get a true feel for the local culture here. It's busy, sweaty and chaotic! There are street vendors selling food and lots of massage parlours. OK maybe some of these parlours are seedy, I don't know. I went to two different ones and had fantastic and very professional back massages. One was a Thai massage (quite painful!) and one was Swedish aromatherapy (wonderful). They are very reasonably priced. The hotel has a spa too which I didn't try but some of my friends said it was lovely. There is also a 7-11 convenience store opposite the hotel and lots of bars all the way along the street. At first glance I thoght these bars looked a bit rough and not somewhere I would choose to go but we gave some of them a try and what a great time we had.

The Thai people were so friendly and welcoming. By the end of our trip we felt like we were leaving old friends and went to say goodbye to one bar owner in particular who had been so kind and hospitable to us. Also the sky train is a 5 minute walk from the hotel through the park. It is excellent, safe, reliable and cheap. A great way to get around a city with traffic jams galore!

Bangkok is a wonderful city and this is a great hotel in a great location, enjoy!
