“Brunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

Went for the Sunday brunch and it was very good
Food and service both excellent
Enjoyed the Pop up for the cheese and meat
Pretty good value as well
We were inside which we were pleased about as the terrace was very hot .
Not much has changed since Anantara took over from Four Seasons
Would go back as a fun brunch with friends
Liked having the live band but Shame we couldn't here it inside, should really piped the music to create more atmosphere

We booked this hotel based on the reviews and kid friendliness, because we were traveling with our 2 boys aged 3 and 6. For anyone worried about traveling with young children this is the perfect hotel! We were upgraded to the junior suite on arrival. Large spacious room enough for a huge super king size bed, an extra bed and a travel crib. Wonderful view, huge bathroom. With In-room check in, and a tour of the facilities it was such a warm and luxurious welcome. Christina, who welcomed us spent more than an hour with us telling us about the hotel, Bangkok in general and even sent us periodic information about the sites we wanted to check out while we were there. She was truly exceptional. And this is the best part, kids ate free, all day everyday. This was truly a godsend because they never really eat a full size dish. This way we were able to order a few kid sized options and they ate healthy well cooked meals instead of the greasy fast food that we would have ended up eating outside. The in-room dining folks were really friendly and upbeat, always coming to our room with a big smile. We stayed 4 nights and the last 2 evenings we got babysitting for the kids. Waree was just wonderful with the kids. This allowed my husband and I a chance to experience the evening life of Bangkok, at least for those 2 days. We traveled on to Singapore after that but we absolutely loved Bangkok primarily because of the warmth and brilliance of this hotel. We thought the city and its people were warm, and wonderful. This hotel is right smack in the middle of the biggest and best malls, and local shopping areas in Bangkok, restaurants, nightlife you name it its all within walking distance. Whatever is further away the sky train zipped us there in minutes. The kids got a big kick out of riding the super clean, very regular train service. The concierge desk helped us out with good advice every time we stepped out, and we are so thankful for that. Excellent work.

The gym and pool areas are awesome, it even has a small children's play area on one side that our kids loved.

I have to mention the sound proofing of the hotels as the probably the best I've ever seen. The kids spent the first 2 days running to the window every time the train noiselessly zoomed past our windows. It was truly amazing how silent it was.

For kids, check out the aquarium in the Paragon Mall. You can spend the whole day there and in the mall. The safari and marine park is recommended although we never made it there this trip. We will catch it the next time. Shopping for local designs was great at the Terminal 21 mall. Good quality and not just the brands that you get everywhere else. The ride up the river is great too to see other parts of the city. Use the tourist boat for 40 baht. Much more relaxing than the orange flag boats.

Now for those not travelling with kids, this is an equally good choice, because everything is nearby as I said before. And the restaurants and the bar in the lobby, the dining options within the hotel itself are just picture perfect and very romantic. Its really just a great luxury hotel that caters to just about anyone. The kids being welcomed and accommodated so generously is just an added perk for families. The sushi at the Japanese restaurant in the hotel is some of the best sushi in the world.

Its a bit more pricey than other hotels but for what it offers any kinds of traveler, this is unbeatable. Some reviews said the decor was dated but I didn't see anything of the sort. It was the Four Seasons until a few months ago, but the service remains flawless. We've stayed in hotels long term, and short, with kids, without, and I am without a doubt one of those hard to please guests. But this one was a winner all the way. Thank you Anantara. Please keep up the good work. We will be back soon.

Room Tip: Junior suite great for family of 4. All views good even the one overlooking the train tracks was sup...

It was wonderful to stay in a hotel that is clearly proud of its Thai traditions and culture. I was concerned that as this was a Four Seasons previously that it may not be good. If anything I was really impressed. The hotel was fantastic. Starting from the staff through to all the amenities and facilities. Would definitely recommend.

I stayed at this hotel and found that it was really worth it! The food was good, hotel upkeep was excellent and the service of the staff was beyond compare - not to mention the warm hospitality of all the staff around. Besides all this, the hotel was sparkling clean, lobby well looked after, room and bathroom was super clean and smelt fresh and nice! Would love to go back there soon.

Room Tip: Well lit room with all services provided. Spelt soundlessly all the nights that I was there... felt...

The restaurant has a garden look with tall trees and flowers. I was being served inside the restaurant with an expresso and daily newspaper. I walked around the food corner and was happy to see my favourites are on the table. The breads were fresh and the omlette was made just right. Breakfast is very important for the Start of the Day !

I was surprised. This older Hotel in the center of busy Bangkok has only changed the name. I stayed there many times in the past, when it was still a Four Season. Why: caring staff, good facilities, I use those daily: 25m Pool, big gym, Yoga room, Spa, great entrance hall, outside and inside generous breakfast buffet with good alternatives for me as a vegetarian. Several restaurants, passionate staff everywhere, never aloof and "cool" as often in 5*hotels and resorts.
BUT: It is high time: rooms need to be remodeled and refurnished, carpets are old and sticky.
The room rate is relative low for such a hotel, I could first not believe it. And it is quiet out to the pool side, rare in Bangkok.
My wife and I (former Jurlique , now JK7) were recognized again, treated like royalty for 6 days and nights . Good also to meet for business.
Yes , I will go there again! It was fun and value for money. JK

Room Tip: very quiet in the main building, out to the pool

When we booked this hotel was a Four Seasons. Without us being notified it changed hands. We had prepaid but had to leave 2 days early. We left the room for friends but before they could even get in the room the hotel cleaned our things left for friends out of the minibar and took back the room. And of course kept our prepaid money. The health club and pool are great. But the hotel is nothing special; rooms are just ok needing updates with things like stained carpet;seems more focused on making money than providing service; One lesson learned: NEVER prepay. Wouldn't stay here if I returned to Bangkok.
