I consider myself a tolerant person when it comes to staying at hotels. I usually travel alone or for business. This was a rare family trip with 4 adults and 2 children, staying at 2 rooms. The trip was great but the hotel left much to be desired.
I arrived from a different location than my other family members. It was late midnight. Having no Thai currency with me, I arranged for the hotel driver to pick me up. When I arrived, the driver was no where to be seen. They had promised me that the driver will be waiting with my name on a card. I walked up and down the airport for around 20 minutes before calling the hotel. Within 5 minutes, the driver appeared in front of me with my name on a paper. When I asked where he was all this time? He replied "Toilet". This was a huge turn off, especially since it was past 3am in the morning and I was dead beat!
Lets talk about the hotel. It has 18 floors but only 2 smallest elevators that I have ever seen in a 4 star hotel. My family of 4 adults and 2 children took up 90% of the elevator space. There were many times where we had to wait for the next elevator. This was very frustrating and ridiculous to be honest.
Housekeeping was a joke. I stayed for 5 nights. We leave early morning and come back to the room around 4pm to 5pm. We have kids and they are usually tired by this time and have to come back for a small nap. I leave the "Please make up room" sign on the door by the time we leave at around 8am. When we come back at around 4.30pm, the room was untouched. I had to call Housekeeping and after 30 minutes, they are still not in the room. I called with a frustrated tone after 30 minutes and they arrived within 1 minute.
The next day, our room was cleaned by the time we reached at around 4.30pm. I was happy and thought the day before was a one time thing. To my dismay, the room was untouched once again the next day! I was speechless. I had to once again wait for the housekeeping lady to come and we were unable to rest after a long day.
The air conditioning in the room was deafening! I don't even need to elaborate much further on this. Those who travels often and wish to have a good nights sleep will know what I mean.
The Wifi in the hotel has a ridiculous signal quality! I get better signals in my hotel room from the hotels nearby. How is this even possible? I booked my rooms for 5 and 4 nights respectively and am only given access for 3 days. I had to get a set of new logins on my 4th day. Why does the hotel put their guests through this? I rely a lot on the internet during vacations to keep up to date with my work and this was a serious inconvenience. Anyone who needs to stay connected during vacations should avoid this hotel like the plague!
My return flight was around 7pm. I asked the day before if I could check out late at around 3pm. I was given a flat no. I was told that I would have to pay 1000 Baht extra. The best they could do is till 2pm. I told them that I had stayed for 5 nights x 2 rooms. I am also using their mini van to go to the airport. I asked if they could give us another hour so that we do not need to wait so long in the airport? Honestly, 1000 Baht is not a lot of money. But I figured after what I went through in this hotel, there is no way I am gonna pay them a single cent extra. The least they could do was to give us an extra hour but they refused!
I will never stay here again and will not recommend this hotel to anyone!

Thank you for taking the time to jot down your comments on TripAdvisor.
While we are all surprised at the shortcomings you concisely mention, we are grateful, yet extremely sorry that you left BelAire Bangkok with such an impression.
Concerning the issue on transportation we have notified the company, as their service is independent of the hotel. However, we understand your frustration and noted the inconveniences caused as such service failure is not acceptable.
The hotel recently celebrated its 23rd Birthday and at the time of construction, elevators size is determined by the number of rooms against anticipated frequency. During your stay the hotel was operating at high occupancy so perhaps there could have been a longer wait than usual.
Your comments on housekeeping and other services is a first for us, yet we have embraced it with good intent to help us evolve over services to future guests.
It is most unfortunate we were not proffered the opportunity to recover from the service interruption you encountered as we would have only been too happy to ensure your stay was enjoyable.
To say you will never stay here again is your choice, however your comments are extraordinary in companion to others.
