I visited Bangkok on 27th August for a business trip. The hotel was booked by my business associate because of it,s proximity to their office. The hotel is bit away from the airport but while returning-30th August being a sunday I availed a meter taxi and had to pay 140 Bhats to the airport. The Hotel charges Bhat 1000 for airport drop-pickup.
The staff are wonderful and make you feel at home.It is not recommended for vegetarians as being one I encountered
immense problems.
Overall the experience was great.

The Dusit Princess Srinakarin was a superb hotel. Facilities were amazing, there's a free swimming pool, gym, etc. The buffet breakfasts were superb, with a range of dishes to suit all tastes and requirements including vegetarian and Halal.

Bedrooms were super-clean, though the shower water pressure was a little unpredictable. I really, really enjoyed my stay there and will return there in a week or so to complete my visit to Thailand. Absolutely lovely :)

One minor quibble was the lack of wireless internet access; there was cable/10baseT only, but that was perfectly adequate. Neither do they block Skype.

I really appreciate the staff of this hotel for their good service and behaviour. One of the best free breakfast I have had with lots of varieties.

Only minus point is that it is not close to the city where you have the "night life"

Apart from this, best hotel for the money we give....

I travel regularly from my home, outside Bangkok, to overseas destinations. I have stayed at the airport novotel many times but have experienced various problems on every occassion. The Dusit Princess was recently reccomended by a business associate and, boy, what a find. Very modern hotel, spacious rooms, excellent bar and restaurant, good service, reasonable rates and only a 15 minute taxi ride from the airport. It is also located across the road from a large, modern shopping mall. Would I stay here again? definitly.

Pros: Chose the Princess because of its 20 to 30 minute proximity to the airport and wanted to get an early start. The front appearance, lobby, and restaurants were well kept and the staff was friendly in typical Thai fashion. Check in went smoothly and a non-smoking room was ready and waiting. Foods from International, Thai, and Japanese restaurants were good from what I sampled of each. The minibar was stocked typically. TV had good reception and Cinemax and HBO. The bed was very comfortable, firm mattress and super soft covers. A sofa was situated next to the bed (for hosting guests?)

Negatives:
1. Bathroom was old-fashioned with pitted plumbing fixtures, the bathtub's shower head being below my head (I'm only 5'8"). The bathroom won't be winning any decor awards and is not at all in keeping with this class of hotel.

2.The three available restaurants offer a wide selection but don't make the mistake of arriving hungry between 4pm and 6pm . My hunger had to wait. My dinner for two, dessert, and a later late night fruit snack ran 5000 baht (just under $200). No menu in my room so they had brought one in which looked like a student's notebook, loose pages, and handwriting on a taped up cover. That was worth a chuckle.

3. Although I stayed on a Monday, the club downstairs must have had live music judging from the way my 4th floor room seemed unable to keep out the heavy bass and occasional staccato voice of a female singer. Fortunately the TV had good volume and could overcome it. I could also hear my neighbors, and whoever was talking in the hall. Perhaps the walls are thin. We were fortunate that the music ended before midnight but my evening slumber suffered.

All in all, a clean friendly hotel with a few drawbacks. Of the five hotels I stayed at in Thailand in this price range, it would rank fifth. Tune it up a tad and it would be a nice place.
