“Excellent airport hotel poor breakfast system administration”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

We checked-in late or early morning after transfer from Suvarnabhumi to Don Muang...overall worked well until breakfast time...staff dont really know how to handle guest breakfast administration...we reserved room with breakfast but they dont seem to understand and tried to bill us after we wer done eating. The same thing we have seen other guest been treated...very poor hotel system...some with buffet and some not in the same location...rediculous!

This hotel located right opposite of Don Muang Airport. It is connected by an overhead bridge to airport. Overall, convenient location if u need to be near to airport to catch your next flight. Room is quite spacious with necessities provided however room was quite dirty, with stains on the comforter, dust everywhere. Service was lacking, front desk was unfriendly.

The Amari Airport was a great hotel in its day. Now its a bit run down and showing its age but it's great value for the price and location.
Bed room was good, but the bathroom was not so good. Problems with water in the shower, it kept going really hot making a shower not fun !
Overall , if you have a flight from the airport and want something close and value. I would stay here.

Room Tip: Go for the Grand deluxe, worth the 400 baht extra

We could go to the hotel through the underpass. We could save on hiring charges of a taxi. Facilities are top class. The food was very tasty.Highly recommended. The rooms are well decorated and the bathroom is very spacious too.The toiletries are of good quality.

Room Tip: Higher floors are good for city view.

Checked into the hotel which took 45 minutes. No apology for having to wait. Asked for a non smoking room was given a smoking room. Took an hour for them to actually give me a non smoking room. The staff do not care when you complain. Definitely DO NOT stay here. The only positive note: easy access to Don Mueang Airport

Room Tip: Any tip? Do to stay here.

I was a 'walk-in.' (which is very easy from Don Muang airport. Just follow the signs across the bridge.) Reception staff were pleasant and threw in a buffet breakfast after I grumbled, politely, about it not being included in the price of the room ($2,450 Thai baht). Rooms were a very long walk from the reception desk. First room stank of second-hand cigarette smoke. Second room was better but still not 100% cigarette-smoke free. The room, on the 4th floor, looking out at the pool, was more than adequate. It was listed as 'DeLuxe', which means, of course, a standard room. Bed was firm and comfortable. The room was quiet and extremely clean though it was showing a few signs of wear (as is usual with airport hotels). Good bathroom with walk-in 'rainfall' shower, though drain was very slow -- so much so that if two people took a shower one after another, the rest of the bathroom would be flooded.. Lobby snack stall is expensive. Buffet breakfast was no more than adequate. Internet is available only in the lobby and then for a maximum of three hours. Flat screen Samsung television with lots of channels in English in the room. (I watched an episode of ITV's 'Lewis'). Given its proximity to Don Muang, you could do a lot worse.

Room Tip: Odd-numbered rooms on the 4th floor, facing the pool, seem to be the best choice..

Our room was very clean and spacious, with sleek dark wood designs. The front desk staff were very helpful in getting us maps/directions/information when we had questions. I would say the hotel is about a 30 to 40 minute cab ride from central Bangkok. The most convenient thing about this hotel is that if you are flying out of Don Mueang International Airport you literally get the elevator from the hotel lobby, walk through a tunnel and within a 4 minute walk you have arrived at the airport.
