“Fantastic Hotel next to Nana Plaza”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2011

This hotel is the bomb. It is in a great location, close to the sky train and major shopping centers. It is easy to find and easy to get anywhere in Bangkok.

The hotel staff is excellent. The room service is great and the variety of food in the hotel is great.

The VIP lounge is one of the best around. Great breakfast, great snack food, great staff.

The rooms are decent size and they have everything I need for business.

I have stayed at this hotel about 10 times over the last 8 years and every stay has been wonderful!

JW Marriott Bangkok is one of the best Marriott's that I have had a chance to stay. Very comfortable and with good access to the city's attractions and night life. Though the hotel may seem to be located in a crowded location, the facilities nearby make it an attractive option. I would recommend this to a business traveler heading to Bangkok.

Highly recommended place if you have some dough to burn. Despite the size they sopmehow manage to make it feel cozy.

I just flew 18 hours and checked in around 1 AM. A young lady in a front desk was talking with a strong Thai accent, I barely understood what she said. This wasn't a first time, I get used to it. Problem was she kept talking as fast as she could speak with a garbage questions, like no smoking or smoking, what kind of bed, and so on. I already registered no smoking king, what wrong with the management. 5 star hotel stuffs, especially in a front desk, need to try to communicate with a hotel guest. I' d like them to learn from Imperial hotel in Tokyo, that 's real 5 stars.

I stayed at the JW for about the 20th time, after over a year's absence. This stay my executive suite had been refurnished with a glass top desk and comfortable office chair...just the way I like it for the long hours that I need to log on my lap top.

The executive lounge girls were as friendly as ever and the evening grub over the top. I dont believe that there is any other hotel in the world so generous at the cocktail hour. And I must admit, that I was so tired one evening that I just rolled into bed at 1930 hrs after snacks in the lounge...so much for Bangkok"s infamous night life.

See my recent review of the Renaissance Ratchaprasong. That and the JW are great hotels. I live at the beach and stay in hotels 100+ nights per year, almost entirely for business. The JW in Bangkok is one of the places I go to get away and unwind. Thais are very nice. The staff is great and they have a great memory for people and their likes. The reviewer who said that the JW is older was right, though it does not seem old and worn. It does not feel like a brand new business hotel - and that's part of its charm. As much as I thought of the Renaissance's facilities, two things I think at the JW are much better - the Club/Executive Lounge (though I preferred the decor before they remodeled it - the reviewer who said it looks kind of generic is right, but the staff and food/services they offer is unsurpassed). The other is that the spa, fitness center and pool area feel more like a resort than a city hotel. And actually, one of the best menus and most reasonably priced restaurants is the juice bar in the spa. Bangkok is a big, crowded city with lots of traffic, great food and some of the best shopping and nightlife anywhere in the world. The JW is an oasis in that sea of excitement.

Stayed here for 5 days for business. The hotel was conveniently situated between two train stations so getting to wherever you need to go is easy. I would take the cab but they charge you extra if you're staying at the JW. That's what you get for staying at a pricey hotel
A supermaket and convenience stores are very close by so the essentials you need are there. I didn't find too many places for meals though except the pricey ones at the hotel.
The palce was comfortable and very cozy. Bangkok is meant to be explored anyway so I was only at the hotel to rest.
I would definitely suggest this hotel to anyone.
