“Must be the best in Bangkok!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013

Just returned from two visits within 10 days at this stunning resort situated in the middle of Bangkok.
Great service with a good variety of restaurants. We tried Benihana, Trader Vics, and Cafe Uno (dont miss the pastry and homemade chocolates - best in Asia!).
We had the pleasure to meet many repeat guests around the pool - most probably the best sign of a top quality hotel. We will return!

Room Tip: Book a room facing the River.

I have just returned from a night in the Anantara with my husband and two young children. I read many reviews about this hotel and a lot said that it has a resort feel in the city, this is very true. The hotel is very well kept and clean. The staff are very nice and friendly. The beds in the rooms are very comfortable, the decor in our room was ever so slightly dated but nothing that would dampen your stay. The pool was a good size with a swim up bar and a decent children's pool and ample sun beds. We ate in Trader Vics and the food was really good and again the staff were excellent. The Kids Club is quite small and could maybe do with a few new toys but again it was sufficient for us and our length of stay. The best experience was the breakfast buffet, it is by far the best I have seen and I am fussy!! The selection of pastries, cereals, hot food, pancakes.... Was unbelievable and the quality of the food was fantastic! I only wish I didn't have a small appetite as I would have kept on going for as long as possible. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

We arrived at this lovely, typical Thai hotel on 30 th March and it was mostly what you would expect from a 5 star hotel. The reception areas are cool and chic. The rooms were well decorated and furnished..The disappointing thing was we were given a room in the farthest block on the complex and when we opened the door to the balcony ,there was an adjacent building whose windows seemed boarded up and there was a tennis court on the top floor ! Not a view I expected or appreciated! We asked to be moved but unfortunately the hotel was fully booked and they couldnt move us until after the Easter weekend but as we were leaving on Wednesday morning there was no point. Also, the shower head kept falling down but when we called reception some one came to repair it very quicklyThe breakfast was amazing we specially enjoyed the fresh juices. The free river ferry shuttle was very useful and quite frequent.
There was a small shopping centre across the road where there were a few restaurants which was handy for lunch or supper as the hotel retaurants are expensive.Do try the evening buffet at least once, the choice of food was amazing and delicious.
The staff were always very helpful and polite.

We loved our stay here. The location is wonderful (once our taxi driver found it - bring a printout of hotel name and phone number in Thai with you to the airport if you decide to take a taxi and not the hotel shuttle [which, btw, is 10x more expensive than a taxi]). The pool is large and we loved the swimup bar. Room was clean and large and good aircon. Breakfast buffet was amazing - every type of food you want! Major drawback, only 30 min free wifi in room - after that it was pay as you go. Free wifi downstairs,, so just bring your computer to the pool and surf! Otherwise it was great - loved being able to take the water shuttle from the hotel to the Saphin Taksin stop - easy access from there to SkyShuttle or water taxi to Royal Palace. Highly recommend.

A stunning hotel with all the things you would expect from a five star hotel. But that is not all, everything is five star! The service, the surroundings, the restaurants, etc. The hotel is outside of the main hustle and bustle of Bangkok. The lovely trip across the river in the shuttle ferry is an experience in itself and the whole stay was never going to be long enough.

Room Tip: Pool-side or a river view are both lovely.

Attended a friend's wedding a few months ago and stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. The rooms are quite spacious and the amenities adequate. What I loved about the hotel is the old world charm and that Resort atmosphere despite being on the heart of Bangkok. The breakfast was also quite good, loved the bread selection and the assorted jams. Service was also good, they helped me arrange for a visit in one of the nearby temples and had a blessing from of the monks for me and girlfriend. If in Bangkok again, will definitely visit this hotel again.
