“Staff on Club Floor Always excellent!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2013

Just checked in to the club floor of Intercon Bangkok. They're fully booked and hectic for New Year but as always the staff bent over backwards to meet our needs and nothing was too much trouble. Today, it was Mem who excelled in helping us get into our room and with ticket requests. When we were here last April it was Julia who made our stay for my husband's 50th exceptionally memorable. Earlier this month on our wedding anniversary the club floor team also made sure we had a complimentary cake to help us celebrate. This is the only hotel that we never fail to recommend to friends. The staff on the club floor make this, without a doubt, our favourite hotel.

Same as for the past 7 years, we went to Bangkok on 21st December. Despite of the unsteady political sitution, we still determined to continue our usual practice spending our Christmas in Bagnkok.

Needless to say and without any hesitation, we stayed at the Intercontinental Bangkok. We feel so much at home as soon as we stepped into the hotel. The staff are so warm and friendly which makes a big difference for visitors. Although we are on the club floor, we still love to have our breakfast in the coffee shop. The food is just marvellous, hundreds of choices, and the quality of the food is unbeatble. It is just like a full meal to us, and this is the best way to start a day.

Besides the food which impressed us so much, all the staff there are so friendly and helpful. They always try to do their utmost to make sure you are well fed and the service is just perfect.

Besides all above, the location is just ideal, right a few steps to the BTS which makes travelling so easy and we do not have to worry about the traffic.

In total, we had a great Christmas at the Intercon and I have no hesitation in recommending anyone who could not make up their minds where to stay,

Margaret Ngan

The Intercontinental is one of the best hotel in Bangkok, if your goal is shopping. It is conveniently connected to three big malls (Siam Paragon, Central World and MBK Centre) through the skywalk. It is also close to the Chitlom station on the BTS Skytrain network. The hotel puts up a pretty good buffet breakfast spread, with very attentive staff who remember your personal choices well. Don't be fooled by the pictures of the pool, however. Though it has a great location on the 37th floor, for some reason they have decided to build an extremely tiny pool, which is perfect for kids but not for adults.

I recently spent 3-nights at the Intercontinental Bangkok with my family. The hotel is right next to Siam BTS, and is conveniently located near Central World Mall, Siam Center, Siam Paragon and Gaysorn Plaza.

When choosing a hotel in BKK it all depends what your purpose their is. If shopping is your number one priority, you can't go wrong with the Intercon. If you are in Bangkok for partying, i would suggest staying in Sukhumvit road.

The rooms at the Intercontinental are not very new and rooms are beginning to show their age, so don't expect luxury, however it's fine for a short stay. The hotel is very big and seems to be busy all the time. The major drawback is the breakfast area. The size of it is grossly insufficient to accommodate all the guests. I am sorry but when i am on holiday, don't expect me to queue every day for up to 30 mins to have breakfast. That's just not on for a hotel of this stature. The breakfast is also very chaotic with waiters mixing up orders all the times.

Overall, for the rate the hotel charges, there are many better choices in Bangkok, however just for the location, it is probably one of the best.

I recently had reason to stay here as a result of a social function. This is one of the high end hotels in Bangkok and right in the Ratchaprasong premier shopping district. It goes without saying that to remain competitive these hotels while charging you top dollar they also pamper your senses in a sublime way.

The lobby at the Intercontinental is an introduction to the lavishness and expected sumptuosity of the place. Once in the room, the furnishings and linen are of first grade quality and they even offer a pillow menu and will be happy to replace it with one of your choice.

The fruit basket offered a range of products and the slippers were not flimsy cheap by-products but comfortable, embroidered with the hotel logo and had rubberised soles. They were not subject to the standard reminder that you could buy them at reception as they will be yours to keep. The lighting was very good, the bathrobes of thick and luxurious quality and the power shower excellent with a range of soaps and lotions by Agraria.

Up to now the best breakfast I had had in Thailand was at the Holiday Inn in Chiang Mai but the one at the Intercontinental goes straight to number one and in a way I am sorry that I only had 40 minutes or so to enjoy it before they closed the buffet. Next time I will wake up a little earlier and take more time to explore and enjoy its many varieties.

If luxury and being in the middle of the exclusive shopping district is important to you, then this is a worthy candidate to consider.

This hotel is one of the best Intercontinental Hotels in the IHG group. I have stayed here many times. This year was no different. The hotel remains as good, the room service is excellent. The location is great. The best thing about the hotel is the staff who take special interest in your stay.
