“Great hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

We normally stay at holiday inn in Siam when in Bangkok but it was full so we booked the silom road one and will definitely be making a permanent shift, a far batter hotel on a number of levels in my opinion!

Executive lounge is far superior. Great location, really very impressed over all. Breakfast very good, rooms very spacious and clean and service excellent!!

Will definitely come back :)

Last November, I staye at the same hotel but did error for evaluation of the hotel (complete oppositve score). I wanted to show that score 1 was the best but 5 is the best. It is one reason why I try to submit this one again.
If you would like to get better services during your stay at Holiday Inn Silom, I strongly recommend to stay at the Executive Club floor. Then, you can enjoy free breakfast at the Lounge or other restaurant and enjoy tea or coffee or soft beverages all day (from 06:00 until 23:00) and also do happy hours from 18:00 until 20:00. ... You can get more services that I am not describing here. Even you book the Executive Club room, the room fee may still be cheaper than other Holiday Inn in Bangkok.

Room Tip: Book the Executive Club room, if possible.

We have stayed here previously, booked a King size executive room which are spacious and comfortable. We were lucky to get one only a few meters from the lounge but there was no distraction from passing corridor traffic. The staff are friendly and helpful. The drinks and snacks offered in the evening are fresh and plentiful, with the breakfast choice be wide also. The rooms are cleaned very well. The location is very good with plenty taxis or tuk tuks available to take you where you need to go.

This hotel is lovely and clean and you get a lot more for your money than on the UK or Australia. The cheapest room we could get was a king size suite on the 23rd floor, and it really was great value for money with the suites having their own breakfast area at the end of the corridor.
We went down to have breakfast in the larger restaurant, where there was more choice of food, but it was also very busy. The swimming pool is great for a quick cooling off with towels supplied and also a bar. The hotel is reasonably central, but once you sus out how the sky train works its only a 5 minute walk to the nearest station and its cheap and easy to use. Buy a day ticket at the cost of about £2. And you can get on and off all day it really is easy to use and highly recommended. There are lots of good restaurants on the Silom road and it is a hive of activity at night.

This is about the 10th time I stay there but sure the last one.
No platinum statuts recognition uppon arrival as I reserved in club level.
Staff never smiling and seem to have nothing with residents.
Choice for breakfast at club lounge very poor with plates always empty and refilled more than 20 minutes after asking.
No more cookies at tea time, and choice at evening cocktails is not very great.
Sorry but service decreased too much year after year.
The offer in BKK is so large that I am sure to find an other place for same price and better service.

Choose to stay at the holiday inn for 3 nights over a weekend using priority club card points. Hotel was excellent. I wanted to leave my luggage somewhere safe whilst I went to Hong Kong for the weekend and the concierge kindly kept it safe for 3 days at no charge. Staff very friendly and helpful. Both rooms were excellent. On the first night my room was upgraded as the hotel was very busy! Wifi throughout hotel. Free in Hotel lobby. Located well and very near the sky bar which is worth a visit.

Would stay again if stopping in Bangkok.

This hotel is used by several airlines such as Emirates, Air India etc.

The hotel is ok and I quite like the location. The problems that I have are:

1. No Priority Club Platinum benefits beyond one cat upgrade and late check out. You may be able to negotiate a free internet but they charge for it by default.

2. The front desk can be a terrible mess when they have crews leaving.

3. They try to pull up the dynamic currency conversion scam and not to charge in THB but the currency of your card. This costs you extra 2.5%. Had to get them to reverse the charge and run it againt in THB.

4. The fitness center is inadequate for the size of the hotel and the equipment is old.
