This is my favourite gastropub in Bangkok Sukhumvit soi 22. In fact , a sign outside says to leave your husband at the "husband crèche" - all the wife needs to do is pay for his beers. Ahem.... No way, not without me!
The decor is modern Indo-colonial with a fabulous extended balcony upstairs for those who like the outdoors and to flop into comfy couches with larger groups for lunch or for a few drinks around the sports screens.
Food is good and varied - ferang and Thai - and the large variety of tapas is more-ish. I can recommend the meatballs, prawn skewers, calamari and bruschetta trio. If your after a good and generous meal-salad, try the Nicoise. Burgers are a bit dry but I'm sure extra sauces can fix that! Service is friendly and efficient if not perhaps too attentive and quick at times, but better that than being ignored.
A lovely place for lunch or dinner or to chill out for drinks or even on your own with iPad etc. Definitely more upmarket so expect to pay a little more but the experience is way above the usual pubs. It's in a different league. It's an escape!
