“Very goo South Indian food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2014

This is a great, local, restaurant. Not fancy by any means, but probably the best South Indian in Bangkok, friendly, clean, and filled with Indian families on the weekend. Inexpensive, and they play fun Tamil musicals.

“Amazing Tamil food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2014

I go there more than twice a month and I never have enough. I used to live in Chennai and was looking for Tamil dishes. Idlys, dosas and chutneys especially are delicious! I've tried several South Indian places in Bangkok this is the best along with Chennai Kitchen close to Srimariamman temple and Surasak BTS.
Decoration is very simple and the temple music might sound boring, but it's a very typical and authentic place with cheap good meals! Besides, the staff is adorable.

Be careful Sri Ganesh is moving on Jan 15th, 2014!

“World class South Indian”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2013

This is an excellent South Indian restaurant. It is hard to find, but with some directions from locals we managed to locate the restaurant. Both the food and service were outstanding, overall this was an excellent dining experience. We will definitely be returning.

“South to North”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2013

I came here since noticing the climb up the ratings scale. I woulda made it here sooner or later anyways but a quick note, they are moving to another soi and will re open in January close by. the move is cause there's no parking here and mostly local regulars dine here. so I have been told by the owner.

lala, have to say for being the number 1 or 2 Indian cuisine in Bangkok at this time they were not for me. they are however really tasty and the price was okay. going for a northern dish as they specialize in southern didn't sway them. they made me a nice palek paneer with vegetables that was full of all the flavors and spices you can handle. more on the spicier side and not overwhelming. no naans so I did a dosa with my entree and a water. price was 295 but I paid 300 so I could use my credit card, 300 baht minimum.

the owner just noticed the praise on the internet recently but seems more interested in his regular clientele and says he get mostly locals and this place is not for tourists. another however, he seemed quite happy with my first time visit so this place will welcome anyone I'm sure. free wifi and am sure they will offer it at the new location on the other side of Sukhumvit. open for one more week. I liked them and probably would return to this one for the different flavors.
