“Tasty and you won't leave hungry!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2013

I've been to this Shophouse restaurant 5/6 times and found the quality of food, service and atmosphere consistently good every time.

I also read the other reviews before writing my own. In relation to some of the negative comments, this is a single Shophouse, not a purpose built restaurant and most attention is placed on food and service rather than comfort. I agree it could be a bit lighter but it does add to the atmosphere.

The menu choice is limited but quality is great, particularly the pulled pork and chorizo. Full of flavour. I'm not an expert on Mexican food, but of all the Mexican restaurants in Bangkok this is the one I go back to. Fine dining environment no, relaxed quality, super tasty food, yes.

“not what I expected...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2013

I was looking forward to trying yet another Mexican restaurant in Bangkok, after reading the reviews I set off to find this place. The ambiance is quite dark and has an abandoned feel to it, I did like the murals on the wall though. The margaritas were a big disappointment, from what I could taste they are not made with triple sec, just tequila, lime, water and ice, by no standards can this be called a margarita. I am not into tex-mex food, so all I can say is the food was not my cup of tea, the carnitas were dry and over seasoned with cumin, which is not used in Mexico to season carnitas, sorry I am a purist when it comes to Mexican food. The burrito was huge but again the flavor was not that exciting, plain rice, plain beans and plain chicken. The tortilla chips were glowing with oil and the guacamole was just mashed up avocado with lime and salt. I think it was a bit expensive regarding the quality of the food, I was hoping they would have corn tortillas but they didnt. The staff was friendly and attentive and I appreciate their service, but this is not a place I will be returning to.

“Great place for Mexican Food with a touch of "Thai and Cajun" spice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2013

Shane has done a great job here with his new establishment. When I am in Bangkok, I am it a point to eat here at least once a week. Menu is awesome, specializes in burritos, tacos, Margaritas, great beer, and much more on the menu. Great prices! Great variety! You want hot, they have it! No need for reservations always a little room, even when full, everyone tightens up to make room. Lot's of friendly people that come here. It is for everyone, kids, family, business, friends, or just by yourself....

The service and friendly atmosphere is great, personal touch, very caring, and hot warm food, clean, small family ran business. and Wi-Fi!

If staying at the Davis Main, just across the street, if on Soi 24, go towards Rama 4, when you get to Soi 22, turn right, before Millennium BMW, and El Diablo's is about 200m's up and on the left, cannot miss it. One of the best new finds I have experienced in the last five years in Bangkok. And they deliver!!!!!

“delicious and big burrotios with homemade chips and guacamole!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2013

El Diablos's has delicious burritos. They are huge! If there are two of you I recommend splitting one. They are filled wil rice and beans and your choice of meat. They cost 195 baht-245baht and they are worth the price. You get free chips and dip and guacamole as soon as you sit down. The owner is from New Orleans and very nice. Service is great! They service 150 baht margarita's as well.

“Unassuming & Excellent!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

This place is just around the corner from my business so I eat here quite often.
The menu is small, featuring stuff like home made chips and super hot sauces, quesadillas, burritos etc... the restaurant is small, seating for say 24 so it's intimate and dark with cool murals on the wall!
The food is always excellent, homecooking style and made to order. they also do magnificent jugs of margherita that can totally wipe you out!'
On the whole: friendly, intimate, excellent, tasty!
